Mary Cosby is facing an unimaginable loss.

Jen Shah, star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, has tragically lost her only son, Robert Cosby Jr. He passed away on February 23rd, according to confirmation from police to Page Six. He was 23 years old.

I just… I can’t even. TMZ is reporting that the police found Robert… gone. They said it was a medical emergency, a full arrest. It just… it doesn’t seem real. He’s… he’s really gone.

TopMob News has reached out to the Salt Lake City Police and has not yet heard back.

Robert recently appeared on a Bravo reality show that followed his battles with the law and his recovery from addiction. He died just under a month after being released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail, where he served two months, according to his lawyer, Clayton Simms, who spoke with Page Six.

Simms said it gave him time to get himself together and think things through. He’s eager to focus on positive changes now. He admits it took him a while to accept his marriage was ending, but he now understands it’s over and is ready to move on.

Just weeks before news of Robert Jr.’s death surprised viewers of RHOSLC, his mother shared a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram. Posted on February 7, 2026, it read, “#godfirst Love you all My Beautiful Son.. I love him sm.”

On season six of the Bravo show, Robert Jr. revealed he was having difficulty maintaining his sobriety following a legal issue. This honest admission deeply moved his father, the preacher, and brought him to tears during the 2026 reunion.
