This summer, the world of The Mandalorian and Grogu is returning to the big screen. Early reactions to the movie were mixed, with some concerns about the initial marketing. However, the latest trailer has changed things, leaving many fans feeling optimistic. Unlike the first teaser, which divided audiences, this new trailer looks and feels more like a major cinematic event and gives a glimpse into the story, promising plenty of thrilling scenes. Director Jon Favreau has explained that the team worked hard to make this project even better than before.
As expected, the most memorable parts of the Mandalorian and Grogu trailer center around the adorable Grogu. Whether he’s providing comic relief – like pressing buttons on the ship – or creating touching moments – such as meditating while Din Djarin worries about his future – Grogu is sure to be a standout. The movie could really shine by showing the moment Grogu says his first words.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Can Turn Grogu’s First Words Into an Event

Grogu, the character from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, has only communicated through baby sounds and expressions so far. While The Mandalorian Season 3 hinted at him trying to say “This is the way,” he hasn’t spoken a clear word yet. It seems like the creators are intentionally leading up to this moment, which will likely be a big deal for fans. Considering Grogu is over 50 years old and clearly understands what people say to him, it feels like he should speak soon. Although his species remains a mystery, his development closely mirrors that of a human baby, who typically says their first word around one year old.
As a huge Star Wars fan, I really think the Mandalorian and Grogu movie is the perfect place for Grogu to finally speak his first words. It would be such a fantastic surprise for everyone in the theater! Imagine hearing that first clear word on the big screen – it would be a truly special, shared moment for all of us fans. Honestly, we don’t know if we’ll ever get another film set in this era – Dave Filoni’s movie could even become a streaming series. So, if Lucasfilm is planning something really big with Grogu’s first words, you couldn’t ask for a more important moment than the first new Star Wars movie in almost seven years.
The central storyline of The Mandalorian and Grogu follows Din Djarin’s journey through the galaxy’s criminal world as he searches for a Hutt. However, the story also focuses on the emotional connection between the two characters. The trailer hints that Din Djarin worries about Grogu living much longer than him and being unable to always protect him. It seems a major part of Din Djarin’s development will be preparing Grogu for a life without him, and it would be incredibly moving if Grogu were to say his first words to Din Djarin in a touching moment, perhaps reassuring him. While Grogu’s first words could be funny, they would likely have a greater impact if spoken in a heartfelt scene, adding significant weight to the moment.
It would be a significant moment if Grogu finally spoke in The Mandalorian & Grogu, something fans have anticipated since his introduction in 2019. While it wasn’t the right time when he first appeared, or even at the end of The Mandalorian‘s second season, now feels like the perfect moment after seven years of adventures with Din Djarin. Having Grogu speak now would be a fantastic way to launch the new Star Wars films and generate excitement for the future of the franchise.
