Lego Batman Game Recreates Iconic Tim Burton Scene With Joker

DC and Warner Bros. Games just released a short video showcasing their upcoming Lego Batman game, recreating a famous scene from the 1989 Batman movie directed by Tim Burton. The new game, called Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, is expected to be popular later this year because it will feature many familiar characters, stories, and elements from Batman’s history.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight recreates iconic scene

DC and Warner Bros. Games released a new video called “The Joker, Clown Prince of the Museum.” The video closely recreates a famous scene from the 1989 film Batman, featuring Jack Nicholson as the Joker and his crew causing chaos in a Gotham City museum while Prince’s song “Partyman” plays in the background.

This scene differs from the original. It concludes with the Joker and his crew fleeing through a closing gate, while Batman and Catwoman arrive at the museum to investigate what transpired.

The scene then shows everyone at the museum, except Vicki Vale, being knocked unconscious by the Joker’s gas. Once the museum is vandalized, the Joker and his assistants move towards Vale.

Joker’s men threaten Vale as they search for Batman. Vale bravely throws water in Joker’s face to protect herself, but Batman arrives just in time to save her from his response.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (through the Epic Games and Steam stores) on May 29, 2026. It will also be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, though the release date will be announced later. You can already add the Switch 2 version to your wishlist.

You can now pre-order the game! If you pre-order any version, you’ll get The Dark Knight Returns bat-suit when the game releases. Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition also gives you access to the game three days before everyone else.

Players who have or create a Warner Bros. Games account will receive the Golden Age batsuit when the game launches. This classic design is inspired by Batman’s very first comic book appearance in Detective Comics #27, which was published in 1939.
