The Royal Shakespeare Company revealed its plans for the autumn of 2026, and theatre lovers throughout the UK are very excited.
I’m really excited about the Royal Shakespeare Company’s upcoming season! They’re doing some amazing stuff, like adaptations of classics like Julius Caesar and Middlemarch, and even a show based on Game of Thrones. But the biggest news for me? They’ve got Jonathan Groff – yes, the Tony winner! – starring in As You Like It. I can’t wait to see that!
Daniel Evans, who is a co-artistic director, is directing this new production of Shakespeare’s play, and it will feature an all-male cast.
I just caught wind of a really exciting production heading to Stratford-upon-Avon! It’s running from September 26th to November 7th, and what’s especially cool is that it marks the first time the incredibly talented Groff will be performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Definitely one to watch!
Fisayo Akinade will star alongside him as Celia, and the rest of the cast will be revealed soon. Tickets will be available starting the first week of March for loyal patrons, and then to everyone else from March 18th, through the RSC website.

Groff expressed his excitement about returning to Stratford, saying he was deeply thankful for the chance to perform Shakespeare on stage there for the very first time.
As a huge fan of Jonathan Groff, I’ve been following his work for ages – ever since his breakout role in Spring Awakening. I was blown away by his performance as Franklin Shepard in Merrily We Roll Along (seriously, that Tony Award was well-deserved!), and I thought he absolutely nailed Bobbie Darin in Just in Time. So, when director Daniel Evans said he’s admired Jonathan for over 20 years, I totally got it – the guy’s a phenomenal talent!
Jonathan has a remarkable talent for truly connecting with people. He’s incredibly giving, emotionally open, and fully dedicated – everything we were looking for in someone to play Rosalind.
