With Pokémon’s 30th anniversary fast approaching, a special Pokémon Presents presentation is on the way. But the celebrations have already begun! Nintendo has announced that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are coming to the Nintendo Switch, and there have been special 30th anniversary auctions on sites like eBay and Goldin. Now, Stern Pinball is joining the fun with a detailed preview of their new Pokémon pinball machines. The trailer looks so good, it makes me wish my local arcade would get one!
As a pinball fan, I’ve definitely played a Stern machine or two – they’re everywhere in arcades, and they always have the coolest licenses like The Walking Dead and Star Wars. So, when I heard Stern was making a Pokemon pinball machine, I was super excited! They’ve been dropping hints for a while now, and recently they showed off a really detailed look at how the game actually plays. It looks like a must-have for any Pokemon collector – and pinball enthusiast like me!
Pokemon Pinball Machines Show Off Team Rocket Balloon and Classic Caterpie Animation in New Trailer

Stern Pinball is releasing a new line of machines themed around Pokemon, bringing the popular franchise to pinball fans. Inside, players will find four different Pokemon environments with ramps, spinners, and targets all designed around the creatures. A standout feature is an animatronic Pikachu that reacts to the gameplay and encourages players. Plus, the iconic Team Rocket Meowth balloon will swoop into the play area during battles against Team Rocket, adding to the excitement.
The first trailer offered a brief glimpse of the new pinball machines, but this latest gameplay trailer provides a much more detailed look. The game is heavily themed around the Kanto region, featuring the original starter Pokémon and popular characters like Snorlax, Jigglypuff, and Meowth. While you play, a vibrant screen displays footage from the anime, including an animation of catching Pokémon, which really brings the game to life. You can see all the features in the extended gameplay trailer linked below.
The Pokemon Pinball machine is a fun throwback to the original Pokemon games and anime, created to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. It features fully voiced characters like Giovanni and Pikachu, lets players relive beloved moments from the show, and even plays the iconic Pokemon theme song – all while you enjoy a pinball experience focused on catching Pokemon!
Stern Pinball has released new Pokemon-themed machines in three models: Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition. While the Pro version starts at $6,999, making it pricey for home use, these machines are expected to be popular in arcades nationwide, given the widespread appeal of Pokemon.
You can find more details about these pinball machines on the Stern Pinball website, including the different models and how to check if they’re available. As for me, I’m going to ask my local barcade to get one!
