Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is So Good, Everyone at Ubisoft Wants to Work on It – Rumor

Clint Hocking leaving his role as creative director on the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is causing some concern. Reports suggested the game was progressing well, and while his replacement, Jean Guesdon, is a veteran of the Assassin’s Creed series, there’s a possibility the game’s original concept could shift.

Although other projects are still under consideration, sources at Ubisoft seem to favor a game currently known as Codename Hexe. According to gaming insider Tom Henderson, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is the most sought-after project within the company, with many employees eager to contribute due to its promising development.

Currently in development, Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, but it will differ from recent games by not being a role-playing game. Planned for release in 2024, it’s being described as the darkest Assassin’s Creed game yet and will star Elsa, a female protagonist with unique abilities – including the power to control cats and use them to create diversions.

So, I heard from Henderson that Codename Hexe won’t be a fully open-world game, more like a pretty straight-forward story experience, even though it’ll have some open-world bits. Plus, the game’s logo and the talk about fighting German soldiers make it seem like the story’s set during the Würzburg witch trials, but honestly, nothing’s been officially confirmed yet.

I thought it was hilarious when someone pointed out to Henderson that this whole thing wouldn’t matter unless you were actually playing through an Assassin-focused story. His reply? A GIF of Tom Hanks saying, “Just wait!” It was such a perfect response, and honestly, it got me even more hyped to see what they have planned.

We don’t yet know when or where Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe will be released, though rumors suggest it could be next year. Ubisoft might officially announce details soon, so keep an eye out for more information.
