Major Shonen Jump Series Hits 1 Billion Milestone Ahead of Anime’s Season 3

Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga, Dandadan, which is available on Shonen Jump+, has become incredibly popular, especially after its anime adaptation debuted in 2024. The anime quickly gained fans thanks to its unique story, charming characters, and stunning visuals. While a third season won’t be released in 2026, it’s been a fantastic year for the series. Dandadan won the Shogakukan Manga Award in January 2026, and recently surpassed one billion views on the Japanese app, making it the first Shonen Jump+ series to reach this milestone. This news was confirmed by @SHIHEILIN, the manga editor behind popular titles like Dandadan, Spy x Family, and Chainsaw Man.

The manga series began in April 2021, and this year celebrates its 5th anniversary, suggesting fans can look forward to special events or announcements. While the third season of the anime isn’t due until 2027, details are still forthcoming. In related news, Tatsuya Endo’s Spy x Family is close behind with over 960 million views, as shared by @DandadanBrazil on X, and is predicted to surpass one billion views shortly.

Dandadan Season 3 Will Adapt The Best Manga Arc So Far

The season finale left viewers with a lot of unanswered questions, especially after a new character was introduced. The delay in releasing the next season is understandable, given how beautifully animated the show is, and it promises to be one of the best adaptations so far. Season 3 will be much more action-packed than the previous two, and the studio likely needed extra time to make it amazing. The last episode covered up to Chapter 71, meaning the next season will adapt the final two chapters of the Kaiju Arc.

Following the conclusion of the Kaiju Arc, the anime will begin its Space Globalists Arc, a storyline that’s been hinted at since the Cursed House Arc in Season 2. This arc is the longest in the manga, covering 47 chapters, which will make it challenging to fit everything into the 12 episodes of Season 3. The new season will also finally answer questions about Vamola, the enigmatic girl who wore the kaiju costume, and explain her importance to the story.

Momo and her friends are facing their most dangerous challenge yet as the villains prepare a devastating new attack. These villains are unlike anything they’ve encountered before, and the heroes quickly realize they’re outmatched. The story has never presented a threat of this magnitude. While waiting for the next anime episodes, you can watch the series on Crunchyroll or Netflix. There are currently 17 volumes of the manga available in English, which you can purchase through Viz Media’s website, where you can also read all the chapters online.
