Jason Bateman Details Awkward Sex Talk He Had With Daughter

Hopefully, Jason Bateman’s daughter will avoid the same struggles her dad learned about in his show, Arrested Development.

The actor from Zootopia 2 remembered how he’d explained the facts of life to his 14-year-old daughter, Maple, last year.

On the February 25th episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jason explained that he checked in with her to see how things were progressing and if she needed anything. He added that he didn’t want to share information she wasn’t entitled to know.

He explained that she might have realized he was uncomfortable with the topic, so she pretended not to know much about it, saying something like, ‘I’m really not sure about a lot of this.’

The star of DTF St. Louis, who also has a 19-year-old daughter named Francesca with his wife Amanda Anka, thought his teenage son would interrupt and say he understood. Instead, he let his dad explain everything in detail.

I realized we were getting to the part where… well, where the climax happens. And that’s a necessary part of the story, but I didn’t want to use explicit language, like the word ‘ejaculate,’ when talking about it, especially not in a way that would be inappropriate for my daughter. There was a lot of detail I chose to leave out.

So, Jason took a different route and used a one-of-a-kind analogy. 

The actor recalled a previous comment he made about intimacy, saying, “When a man and woman are together, it’s a beautiful, loving experience.” He admitted he felt embarrassed recalling it, and then explained he’d tried to rephrase it. He said he now describes it as the penis expressing love – like it’s shouting, “I love you!” – and that expression of love is what creates life.

Jason generally keeps his personal life private, so it’s unclear how his daughter, Maple, reacted to a conversation about sex. However, he’s often talked about how proud he is of his parenting.

In a 2014 interview with The Daily Telegraph, he said he’d leave it to his children to judge his parenting. He believes he’s a good dad, and they definitely enjoy spending time together.
