The 2020s have been a fantastic decade for horror movies, with hits like Barbarian, The Black Phone, Pearl, and Weapons. However, some truly great horror films have flown under the radar. With a strong slate of new releases promising continued success for the genre in 2026 and beyond, fans shouldn’t miss the chance to stream one of the decade’s most overlooked gems, currently available on Tubi.
If you’re a Tubi subscriber hoping to watch Cobweb, you don’t have much time left! This 2023 horror film, the first movie directed by Samuel Bodin, will likely be removed from the streaming service at the end of the month. Think of it as a creepier, more unsettling take on Coraline. The story follows Peter, an 8-year-old boy played by Woody Norman, who’s bothered by strange tapping noises in his bedroom. His parents dismiss it as his imagination, but when he investigates, he uncovers a disturbing family secret that’s been hidden for years.
Cobweb Is a Criminally Overlooked Horror Gem
If you haven’t yet seen Cobweb, it’s a movie you should definitely check out before it leaves Tubi. It’s like a dark fairytale for Halloween, building a truly creepy and unsettling atmosphere from the very start. The director uses clever lighting and camera angles to create a suffocating feeling, and the combination of a storybook style with genuinely disturbing visuals – like a house resembling a dollhouse and a decaying yard – makes for a surreal and unnerving experience. Instead of relying on cheap thrills, the movie expertly builds tension, leading to a chaotic and unforgettable climax.
Despite being a strong atmospheric horror film, Cobweb didn’t get the attention it deserved when it was released due to poor marketing and a lot of competition from other movies that summer. However, it’s quickly gaining a reputation as a hidden gem and is likely to become a cult classic. The film stands out with its original story, genuinely creepy atmosphere, and excellent performances from Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr. While critics gave it a 58% score on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences really enjoyed it, giving it a 71% rating, and it even made the site’s list of the best horror films of 2023.
Where to Stream Cobweb After It Leaves Tubi?
It’s becoming harder to watch Cobweb online. While the horror film is currently available on Tubi, it will soon be removed from both Tubi and Netflix. It’s expected to leave Tubi around February 28th or March 1st, and will only be available on Netflix until March 18th. After that, Cobweb won’t be available on any major streaming services, and you’ll have to rent or buy it if you want to watch it.
