I’m really looking forward to the Winter 2026 anime season, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 is definitely a highlight. It’s a shorter season, just 10 episodes, and it’s set to wrap up in March 2026, covering what’s considered one of the best story arcs from the original manga. The show actually took a break for a week to prepare for the ‘Divine Revolte Arc,’ but it came back with Episode 6 on February 27th, 2026. And just before the season finishes, there’s another cool event – the voice actors will be appearing on an ABEMA special program called ‘Defeat! Divine Skill Revolte’ on March 12th, 2026.
A special episode will air on Japanese television at 10:00 PM, one day before the next episode of Season 2 is released. The voice actors for Frieren (Atsumi Tanezaki), Fern (Kana Ichinose), and Stark (Chiaki Kobayashi) will be guests, discussing what’s happened so far this season and exploring the current story arc. They’ll also share what they love about the series and give a preview of what’s to come. Currently, the episode will only be shown in Japan, but the cast’s conversation may be released online later.
What’s Next For Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Fans?

The anime finished its story arc about traveling through the North before taking a break. During this journey, Frieren and her companions met new friends and faced dangerous monsters. The northern lands are still recovering from demon attacks, and things are expected to get even harder as they approach their goal. Demons remain a significant threat, particularly in the North, an area near the former Demon King’s castle.
I’m really excited about where the story is going! The anime follows our heroes as they head towards the Rufen Region on the Northern Plateau. They end up taking on a quest to defeat a demon who’s wiped out an entire village. It’s great to see some familiar faces pop up again, and things are about to get intense because they’re going to cross paths with Revolte – seriously, this guy is a powerhouse! This particular story arc is pretty short – just six chapters – so there’s a good chance the next season will jump right into the Golden Land Arc, though maybe not the whole thing.
The manga went on hold last November because the creators weren’t feeling well. They’re still working on it, but there’s no news yet about when it will continue. The anime’s second season started on January 16, 2026, with new episodes released on Crunchyroll every Friday at 7:00 AM Pacific Time, soon after they air in Japan. While the second season is available on Netflix, it’s currently only in select Asian countries, and there’s no word yet on when it will be available in the U.S.
