After gaining huge popularity worldwide through its original web novel and comic book adaptation, Solo Leveling was almost certain to be a hit as an anime. It still managed to surprise everyone, though, becoming Crunchyroll’s most-streamed series ever. Now, while fans eagerly await the third season of the anime, the Solo Leveling universe is expanding with a new immersive action RPG game called Solo Leveling: Karma, developed by Netmarble for PC and mobile. Netmarble has confirmed the game will launch in 2026, and recent reports suggest a release in the latter half of the year, though a specific date hasn’t been announced yet.
On February 26th, the official X account for the game revealed an updated design for Beru, one of Sung Jinwoo’s strongest shadows. Along with the new look, a description portrays Beru as a fearsome hunter who once defeated top-ranked Hunters and now faithfully serves Jinwoo. The description also reveals that after becoming a shadow, Beru developed a fondness for historical TV dramas while protecting Jinwoo’s family. Notably, even with the timeline reset in Solo Leveling: Karma, Beru remains completely devoted to Jinwoo.
What Is Solo Leveling: Karma About?
The game was revealed at Anime Expo last July and will feature a brand new story. It will specifically focus on the popular Monarchs’ War Arc from the original series. While staying true to Chugong’s original plot, the game will also add new scenes and expand the story.
The game will likely tell the story of Jinwoo as he goes back in time to prevent the tragedies caused by the appearance of the gates. For 27 years, he and his shadow army battled all the Monarchs to ensure the current timeline remained safe. Though the world never acknowledged his heroism, Jinwoo’s sacrifice ultimately saved everyone once again.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Still Hasn’t Shared Any Updates
It’s been over a year since the second season aired, and A-1 Pictures still hasn’t announced whether the anime will continue. Despite the show’s popularity suggesting a third season is likely, the studio’s lack of news means fans might have to wait longer than they hoped.
Season two concluded the popular Jeju Island storyline. Now, the series will delve deeper into the world’s hidden past and explain why Jinwoo received his incredible abilities. We’ll also learn everything about the powerful Monarch of Shadows and his connection to Jinwoo.
