Marvel’s New Game Is A Perfect Replacement For Ultimate Alliance Sequel (And It Arrives This Year)

It’s been over six years since a new Marvel Ultimate Alliance game was released, and even longer since fans could play one outside of the Nintendo Switch. Despite the wait, fans are still excited for a sequel. While there’s no news about the next Ultimate Alliance game yet, Marvel’s latest game looks like a fantastic substitute, and it’s coming out later this year!

Fans loved Marvel Ultimate Alliance for its large cast of Marvel heroes and fun combat, and the new game Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin offers a similar experience. This game is a spin-off of the Marvel: Crisis Protocol system, letting 1 to 4 players team up in an arcade-style beat-em-up. It includes Spider-Man, Black Cat, Miles Morales, and Ghost Spider, and players work together to defeat the Green Goblin. Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin is coming this summer, and you can see it in action in the trailer below.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances Isn’t Even Out Yet, But Its Roster Is About to Expand

As a huge Marvel: Crisis Protocol fan, I’m really excited about the new Alliances releases! They’re starting with Night of the Goblin, which is awesome because it’s all about Spider-Man. But AMG isn’t stopping there – they’ve already announced the next one! It’s called Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Attack of the Sentinels, and it looks like we’re getting a lot of X-Men characters, which is fantastic!

What’s really cool about this new series is the ability to combine characters and villains from different adventures within the Alliances universe. As more sets are released, you’ll be able to build a dream team, similar to Ultimate Alliance, with all your favorite characters. We’ve gotten a sneak peek suggesting Cyclops, Wolverine, Captain America, and Hawkeye will be included, likely as part of the upcoming Attack of the Sentinels set. And for players of the core Marvel: Crisis Protocol game, these miniatures are compatible with that game too, adding even more value.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol is a miniatures game where you build a team of Marvel heroes and fight against classic villains. You’ll use strategy and quick thinking to defeat your opponent. The latest edition, Alliances, makes the game even easier to learn and play right away, while still keeping the exciting gameplay that fans love.

Many miniature games can seem daunting because they often require you to build and paint the figures before you can even begin playing, needing tools like glue and a hobby knife. Alliances simplifies this process with miniatures that snap together quickly – no glue needed! And if you enjoy painting, they look fantastic on the game board.

The character lineups in the Ultimate Alliance games have always been strong, featuring a lot of popular heroes. Even with only two games planned so far, the roster already includes 8 heroes, and it’s likely to become one of the largest Ultimate Alliance rosters ever. We’re already seeing Spider-Man and X-Men characters, which suggests future sets could focus on The Avengers or the Fantastic Four. Personally, I’d be thrilled to see a cosmic-themed set with heroes like Nova, Darkhawk, and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Marvel: Crisis Protocol Alliances – Night of the Goblin will hit stores this summer.
