Just a heads-up: if you’re reading the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, be aware this contains spoilers! I’m watching Season 3 unfold, and things are really heating up now that the Culling Game is underway. We’re meeting a lot of new characters, all thrown into this dangerous battle orchestrated by Kenjaku. It seems Kenjaku is actively seeking out people with the potential to be sorcerers, forcing their abilities to awaken. What’s even more interesting is that many of these players are actually reincarnated sorcerers, given new bodies to inhabit – kind of like how Yuji is a vessel for Sukuna. One standout new character is Hiromi Higuruma, who’s recently awakened as a sorcerer and is proving to be incredibly powerful.
Higuruma is a relatively new character to anime viewers, but he’s already popular with manga readers. He’s a lawyer with a strong moral compass, even when facing a flawed legal system. Initially an opponent of Yuji Itadori, he quickly becomes an ally. Higuruma’s abilities have been invaluable in the story’s climax, and he’s a remarkably talented fighter. While he doesn’t quite reach the level of powerhouses like Satoru Gojo, Ryomen Sukuna, or Yuta Okkotsu, his skills are still very impressive, especially considering his lack of experience.
Higuruma’s Technique Is Linked to His Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen

Domain Expansion is an incredibly challenging technique, even for highly skilled sorcerers. In fact, most sorcerers never master it, as it’s considered the highest level of Jujutsu. Higuruma, however, was uniquely able to use it from the moment he gained his powers. His Domain Expansion, called Deadly Sentencing, creates a miniature courtroom where his spirit, Judgeman, judges opponents based on their past actions. Unlike many other Domain Expansions which guarantee a hit, Deadly Sentencing doesn’t; instead, anyone trapped inside the courtroom is compelled to abide by the rules.
If found guilty of wrongdoing, the individual could lose their powers or even face execution. Throughout the story, he mastered incredibly difficult techniques, including Domain Amplification – a special ability used to defend against attacks from Sukuna. By the story’s climax, he also learned Reverse Cursed Technique, a highly complex healing ability that very few sorcerers can master, even with extensive training. Remarkably, Higuruma was able to use this technique effectively after only two months of discovering his own powers.
