I just read that James Cartwright, who plays Theo Silverton on Coronation Street, is going to have some major clashes with Carl Webster. Apparently, these two villains are going to be at each other’s throats, which sounds amazing! I’m really looking forward to seeing that rivalry play out.
The ITV soap recently revealed a shocking storyline: five characters in Weatherfield are set to die. Among those in danger are Theo Silverton and Carl Webster, both of whom have made plenty of enemies who would want to see them gone.
For months, Theo has been abusing Todd – physically, verbally, and emotionally. Most recently, Theo took away all of Todd’s money and cruelly suggested he start saving ‘pocket money’ in a children’s savings account.
James told Inside Soap that Theo has been causing chaos on Coronation Street, ‘just wreaking havoc and upsetting everyone.’
He’s worried about Carl, and there’s something strange happening between them. James is a likely suspect because he’s strong and had a reason to act. Summer might be unhappy with the situation, and George is also involved.

So, he was laying out all the possible suspects, you know? Like, Sarah’s Todd’s best friend, so she could be involved. Then there’s Danielle, his ex-wife – always a classic suspect, maybe she reappears! Or what about some old flame of Theo’s showing up at a bad time? Honestly, he even threw out the idea that it might be Todd himself, poisoned by a mushroom risotto! It was wild, just brainstorming all the twists and turns this mystery could take.
Theo and Carl have been enemies for a while, and things came to a head earlier this year when Carl secretly heard Theo confessing his feelings about the late Billy Mayhew. Theo later discovered evidence that Carl was behind the robbery at the Chariot Square hotel. Since then, they’ve been threatening each other, and the conflict is expected to escalate in the near future.
Cartwright described the situation as a direct rivalry for dominance, comparing the two villains to silverback gorillas battling for control of their territory. Just like in the animal kingdom, the winner would claim everything the loser had – their position, resources, and even their followers.
