Thomas Rhett Welcomes Baby No. 5 With Wife Lauren Akins

Thomas Rhett is going through life changes.

Country music star Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, recently welcomed their fifth child, a baby boy named Brave Elijah Akins.

They announced the birth of their son on Instagram on February 27th, writing, “Welcome to the world, Brave! We are so incredibly happy and our hearts are full!”

Little Elijah Akins arrived last week, weighing in at almost 10 pounds! He came a little early, about two weeks before his due date, and his parents are so thankful he didn’t wait any longer to make his debut.

Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren, recently shared photos of their new baby, along with sweet moments from the birth. The couple, who are also parents to Lillie Carolina, 4, Lennon Love, 6, Ada James, 8, and Willa Gray, 10, posted a carousel of adorable pictures. One photo shows Thomas rubbing Lauren’s back while she’s in the hospital, and another features a tender kiss from Thomas on Lauren’s forehead as she holds their newborn.

And the dad of five also had a special role in the delivery room.

Thomas Rhett was incredibly supportive during labor and delivery. He actually helped deliver the baby, and was the first to see if it was a boy. He announced it to everyone in the room, and was so emotional – he was crying with joy and a little bit of surprise!

We’re incredibly thankful that fate brought our sweet little one into our lives! Your four sisters already adore you, and we are absolutely head-over-heels in love with our wonderful baby boy.

Lauren, 36, and Thomas announced they were expecting their fifth baby together in August.

Thomas shared in an August 26th Instagram video, playing guitar and explaining he was adjusting to the idea of becoming a father. He said their plans had unexpectedly changed, and Lauren is now pregnant.

The singer said, still standing with Lauren by the fence, “Five less than ten, I guess. Hey, what can you do? Things change. You wake up and everything’s different. Yeah, life just changes.”

Sharing the happy news, the singer of “Make Me Wanna” wrote in the post’s caption, “Here we go again! Our older daughters are so thrilled. We’re so grateful!”

Reality TV star from The Hills, who married a businessman and announced she was pregnant in July, welcomed her daughter, Nelle, on January 15th.

Lo announced the arrival of their baby girl, Nelle, on Instagram. She explained that Nelle arrived two weeks earlier than expected, but felt perfectly timed. They named her after her grandmother, and she’s already very loved.
