The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, called Modulo, was originally planned as a short story, expected to be completed in around three volumes. Recent chapters suggest the story is nearing its conclusion, and the manga will likely finish in just a few more. However, many fans feel like it’s ending prematurely.
Initially presented as a brief story with fresh characters in a futuristic setting, the series cleverly wove in familiar aspects of the original, maintaining a strong connection to it. However, these callbacks only recently became central to the plot, and now the story seems to be rushing towards an abrupt ending. The manga could benefit from continuing for three reasons, which would enrich the narrative and give certain characters the satisfying resolution they deserve.
3) Megumi’s Appearance

The manga is nearing its end, but Megumi Fushiguro, an important character from the first part of the story, hasn’t been featured at all in the sequel. Considering he’s the head of the Zenin clan and one of Yuji’s best friends, it’s surprising he hasn’t made an appearance yet.
Megumi’s role in the story is too significant to leave unresolved, particularly given how much impact he could have had on the world of jujutsu. It feels like an oversight that the sequel hasn’t shown what happened to him after the first series ended. Even a single extra chapter dedicated to his fate would be worthwhile, offering the closure his character deserves before the sequel finishes.
2) Co-existence of Simurians and Humans

The next installment focuses on the uneasy relationship between humans and the Simurians. Even if Maru and Yuji succeed in eliminating cursed energy, solving a major problem in the story, it won’t instantly fix the long-standing conflict and mistrust between the two groups.
With Dabura defeated, it’s unlikely humans would suddenly accept the Simurians, especially since humans still outnumber them and the Simurians continue to ask for peace. This uneasy situation is a recipe for conflict, and a sequel could really dig into the political tensions that arise from being forced to live together. Adding in elements of the old jujutsu practices would make for a compelling story that fans would love.
1) Closure For Yuji

Learning that Yuji and his friends don’t age like normal people – and have centuries left to live – has made Yuji a surprisingly tragic hero. All he wants is to die peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, a remarkably human desire for a shonen protagonist. The story hasn’t granted him that wish yet, and the next part of the series could focus on helping Yuji find peace and, in some way, achieve his final goal.
Even though the new chapters have focused on Yuji, many mysteries still surround him. We don’t fully understand how powerful he’s become, how much he’s changed, or how his past continues to affect him – the series hasn’t delved deeply into these areas. Giving Yuji a satisfying conclusion after revealing what happened to him is a strong enough reason for the Jujutsu Kaisen sequel to keep going, and to make sure he gets the ending he deserves.
