With the Spring 2026 anime season just around the corner, Crunchyroll has given fans a first look at some of its biggest upcoming shows. As the Winter 2026 season wraps up in March, attention is turning to the new series launching in April. Several highly anticipated franchises are finally getting their anime adaptations through Crunchyroll this Spring, and they’re expected to be major hits after years of waiting.
The animated series based on Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier was initially planned for release in 2025, but production delays pushed it back. Now, it’s set to premiere in Japan this April! Fans outside of Japan can watch it exclusively on Crunchyroll, and to celebrate, they’re offering a sneak peek at the first episode, which you can watch below.
When Does Witch Hat Atelier Come Out?
The anime adaptation of Witch Hat Atelier is scheduled to premiere on April 6th, 2026. Fans in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS countries will be able to watch it exclusively on Crunchyroll. The series is being directed by Ayumu Watanabe at Bug Films, with Hiroaki Kojima as producer, Kairi Unabara designing the characters, and Yuka Kitamura composing the music.
The voice actors for Witch Hat Atelier include Rena Motomura as Coco, Natsuki Hanae as Qifrey, Hibiku Yamamura as Agott, Kurumi Haruki as Tetia, Hika Tsukishiro as Richeh, Yuichi Nakamura as Olruggio, Misaki Kuno as Brushbuddy, and Mitsuki Saiga as Iguin. The opening theme song is titled “Kaze no Ansemu feat. suis from Yorushika” and is performed by Eve (TOY’S FACTORY). Nakamura Hak will perform the ending theme, “Tada Utsukushii Noroi.” Currently, there’s no news about an English dub.
What’s Special About Witch Hat Atelier?
Lots of anime shows feature characters transported to fantasy worlds, but recently there haven’t been many truly great fantasy anime series. A few major releases have stood out because of this gap, and Witch Hat Atelier aims to continue that trend with its own unique magical world. The team behind it also worked on Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, which is a good sign and gives fans hope that this series will be a success.
This story takes place in a magical world and centers around Coco, a young girl with dreams of becoming a witch. However, she soon discovers a hidden, much more dangerous side to magic, and her journey promises a unique and exciting adventure. It’s shaping up to be a standout release this Spring, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
