Sean “Diddy” Combs will be released from prison sooner that he expected.
According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons obtained by TopMob News, the rapper—currently serving a 50-month sentence related to prostitution charges—will be released on April 25, 2028.
When Combs was sentenced last year, he was originally scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028. That date was later changed to June 4, 2028.
After being moved from the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City in late October, the 56-year-old is currently held at Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey.
Let me tell you, when my client first arrived at Fort Dix, some whispers started going around about him supposedly drinking moonshine. Now, those rumors were completely false, and we quickly and firmly shut them down. It’s amazing what people will invent, but we made it very clear that he hadn’t touched any homemade alcohol.
According to a statement released in November, Combs has followed all prison rules. His representative emphasized that maintaining sobriety and self-control are very important to him, and he’s fully committed to them.
The spokesperson requested that the public and media be understanding, respect his privacy as he works on personal matters, and allow him to move forward peacefully.
Later that month, the first photos of Combs while incarcerated were released. TMZ published a picture of the Bad Boy Records founder wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants, clearly showing his graying hair and goatee.
He appeared to smile at a fellow inmate standing off-camera as he made his way down a corridor.
Combs has previously apologized for his behavior, describing it to the judge at his sentencing as “disgusting, shameful, and sick.”

He explained that he’s just a regular person who made mistakes. He got caught up in his own success and pride, which led to consequences. As a result of his choices, he lost his freedom and the chance to be a present father to his children and support his mother, according to NBC News.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has seven children – Quincy, 34; Justin, 32; Christian “King” Combs, 27; Chance, 18; twins D’Lila and Jessie, 18; and Love Sean Combs, 3 – shared that he feels deeply humbled and devastated. He expressed intense self-criticism, stating he feels completely stripped of everything.
With tears in his eyes, he vowed he would never put his family at risk. He expressed sincere remorse, stating he deeply regretted his actions, regardless of what others might claim.

At the hearing on October 3, 2025, the judge sentenced him to over four years in prison – specifically, 50 months – followed by five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.

The musician publicly apologized to Cassie Ventura and Jane, identifying them as victims, during his sentencing hearing on October 3rd. This was the first time he had spoken about the case in court.
Combs admitted that the trauma of domestic violence would stay with him for life. He described his behavior as appalling and unacceptable, attributing it to a severe drug problem and lack of control. He acknowledged he needed help, didn’t receive it, and takes full responsibility for his actions.
He went on to share how the case has impacted him.
He explained that he was simply doing his best, but got carried away with his own pride and excesses. As a result of his choices, he lost his freedom, couldn’t be there for his family – his children and mother – and lost everything he’d built: his businesses, his career, and his good name. Most importantly, he lost his own self-respect. He feels completely broken and humbled, admitting he hates himself and has been reduced to nothing.

Judge Arun Subramanian set Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sentencing for October 3, 2025. The judge also refused to grant Combs bail before the sentencing, explaining that his history of violent behavior meant he should stay in jail.

Okay, so, the trial… it was insane. Everyone was holding their breath, and when the jury came back, it was… complicated. They said he wasn’t guilty of the really big stuff, the racketeering, or trafficking Cassie and ‘Jane’ – which, honestly, I still can’t believe. But then… they did find him guilty of driving those women around for… well, for prostitution. It’s just… a mess. His lawyer, of course, immediately started spinning it, trying to make it sound better, but honestly, it’s still awful. I’ve been following this case so closely, and it’s just… unbelievable.
Attorney Douglas Wigdor stated on July 2nd that the legal proceedings began when his client, Cassie Ventura, bravely filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023. While the jury didn’t find enough evidence to convict Combs of sex trafficking, Ventura’s actions allowed them to find him liable for transporting someone for the purpose of prostitution. Wigdor emphasized that by sharing her story, Ventura has significantly impacted both the entertainment world and the pursuit of justice.
Acknowledging the charges Combs denied, Wigdor emphasized, “We firmly stand with and support our client, who demonstrated remarkable bravery throughout the legal process.”
Wigdor also commended Ventura for her testimony, as she was one of 34 witnesses during the nearly month-long trial involving Combs.
He stated that she demonstrated remarkable courage and highlighted the long-standing issues of abuse of power and misconduct by influential men, which had gone unpunished for years. He emphasized that this case showed how urgently change is needed, and they will continue to support survivors.

After learning he was found not guilty on three of the five charges against him, Combs—who could have faced life in prison if convicted on everything—dropped to his knees and bowed his head in what appeared to be a prayer, according to NBC News reporters who were present in the courtroom.
According to reports, Combs’ family members were in the courtroom and reacted with applause and cheers to the outcome. His lawyers embraced each other, and Combs shared a hug with his attorney, Brian Steel.

After three days of discussion, the jury of twelve reached a decision in the sex trafficking trial of Combs on July 2nd. They found him guilty on two counts related to transporting former girlfriends, Ventura and another woman known only as “Jane,” for the purpose of prostitution.
I was so relieved to hear that Sean Combs, or ‘Diddy’ as many of us call him, was found not guilty on one racketeering charge and two counts of sex trafficking. He’d maintained his innocence throughout the whole process, and it’s a huge weight off my shoulders to see the jury recognize that.
The jury informed Judge Arun Subramanian they couldn’t agree on the racketeering charge before delivering their final decision, citing firmly held, differing opinions. The judge urged them to keep discussing the case, and they ultimately reached a verdict a few hours after resuming deliberations the next day.

During her nearly five-hour closing argument to the jury, prosecutor Christy Slavik asserted that Sean “Diddy” Combs used intimidation, force, and control to achieve his goals.
She explained that he was incredibly stubborn and always got his way. He acted as if everything and everyone belonged to him, and expected to be served.
Slavik highlighted two incidents of alleged violence by Combs: a physical assault on his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in 2016, and a more recent alleged assault in 2024 on a girlfriend who is being referred to as “Jane” throughout the trial.
Although eight years apart, these two events are connected, representing different parts of the same overall story – the story of Sean Combs and the criminal organization he ran with the help of his close associates.
The criminal group consistently fulfilled the defendant’s wishes using a calculated pattern of violence, intimidation, and control, she explained. The defendant believed that keeping people silent and ashamed would hide his crimes, and he thought his celebrity, money, and influence meant he was untouchable by the law.
Slavik claimed that during the trial, Combs benefited from a dedicated team of assistants who worked tirelessly to fulfill his every need, enhance his image, and shield him from any negative publicity.

The prosecutors asked the court for permission to change some details of their arguments about the attempted arson and kidnapping charges.
Despite still being charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking – including accusations of kidnapping and arson – prosecutors have dropped specific legal instructions related to attempted kidnapping in both California and New York, attempted arson in California, and assisting with sex trafficking. This was outlined in a letter dated June 24th.
The government stated it hopes that using simpler language will make the instructions easier to follow and prevent misunderstandings.

Combs told JudgeSubramanian that he will not take the stand during his sex trafficking trial.
The judge made it clear that whether or not the music executive chose to testify, no one – not even the jurors – could assume his guilt simply because he remained silent.
Combs admitted he discussed with his team whether or not to testify, but insisted the final decision was entirely his own.
“I’ve thought this through carefully, and this is what I’ve decided,” he told the judge. “It’s my decision, and I stand by it.”

Diddy’s lawyer, Teny Garagos, informed the judge that both the defense and prosecution anticipate their closing statements will each last at least four hours.
After several days of testimony from Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Joseph Cerciello, the prosecution rested its case on June 24th. Combs’ defense team announced they will rely on the evidence already presented and will not call any witnesses of their own.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this case closely, and the courtroom proceedings took a particularly shocking turn on June 23th. The jury was shown very explicit videos – reports from NBC News in the courtroom indicated these were from what were described as Sean Combs’ private parties, often referred to as ‘freak offs’ – and these videos were officially presented as evidence. It was a difficult moment for everyone involved, to say the least.
The agent reported finding 50 explicit videos from 2021 and 2022, but the jury only viewed two of them, using headphones and individual screens.

In voicemails to his former chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, Sean Combs outlined a list of requests he had while staying at a hotel in November 2021. These included asking for more baby oil, which he said he often used during intense emotional outbursts.
He told Khorram to have them call him before starting their journey. He added, frustrated about being released, “I can’t believe I’m out. Load twenty bottles into the vehicle.”
Khorram agreed to stay at the hotel one extra night and let them know, “The baby oil is right outside the door.”
According to text messages, his former employee told him she was setting up an IV drip for him and Jane, which he had previously used to recover after intense physical exertion – described in the texts as a “freak off.”
She also made sure that there were Plan-B pills, an emergency contraceptive, in his nightstand.

The court saw text messages between Combs and Ventura where Ventura openly shared how the alleged abuse was affecting her.
In March 2017, after Combs suggested they take a break from their on-again, off-again relationship (which lasted from 2007 to 2018), Ventura responded that she didn’t want a break. She explained that she didn’t want to be criticized for standing up for herself, and that Combs made her feel unimportant.
In another instance, she further accused her ex of physically assaulting her.
In a letter from May, Ventura described a painful experience, stating that after showing affection, she was physically assaulted and dragged by her hair. She emphasized she was 30 years old and that the abuse had crossed a line. She expressed feeling emotionally detached during the incident, yet deeply moved by the memory of her own strength and resilience.

Brendan Paul, who worked as Sean Combs’ assistant from 2022 to 2024, testified that he bought drugs for Combs several times. These drugs included marijuana, 2C, cocaine, ketamine, and ecstasy.
Paul explained that they would contact the drug dealer by text, and the dealer would then come to one of their homes. He said he’d been connected with the dealer through texts or phone calls, and also mentioned being fired from jobs several times for things like forgetting his Lululemon fanny pack.
However, Paul vehemently denied being a “drug mule” for the rap mogul.

On June 18th, Judge Subramanian ended court for the day because one of the jurors was sick and couldn’t return. Court will also be closed on June 19th for the Juneteenth holiday.
The judge announced that a juror is unwell and unable to attend court. They had experienced dizziness and had to leave earlier. Because this juror is part of the main jury panel, the judge stated they won’t be able to continue with the trial today.
As a close follower of the case, I heard the judge address the juror’s health concerns today. It sounds like they’re not sure if this bout of vertigo – which causes really unpleasant symptoms like dizziness, nausea, and headaches – is going to pass quickly or if it’s something more lasting. The judge said they’ll be keeping a close eye on things to see how it goes, and I’m hoping for a speedy recovery so this juror can continue serving.
Because of the Juneteenth holiday on June 19th, Judge Subramanian announced the trial will continue on June 20th with a shorter schedule, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Just after Judge Subramanian removed Juror No. 6 due to inconsistent answers about where they live, another juror is now potentially facing removal. This juror reportedly discussed the case with a former coworker, and the judge questioned them and asked to examine their phone, according to NBC News.
Ugh, I was so glued to the proceedings on June 16th, desperately hoping for some resolution about whether they’d kick him out or not! But honestly? They just…didn’t decide! Can you believe it? After all that, they left us hanging! No news on whether he’s staying or going, it was incredibly frustrating!

Kanye West showed up at the New York City courthouse on June 13th to support Sean “Diddy” Combs. West was there for about half an hour and spent time in the waiting area, but he didn’t go inside the courtroom itself. The courtroom is reserved for Combs’ family, lawyers, the press, and members of the public who have been waiting in line for a long time.

Jane remembered a fight they had after she took a trip to Las Vegas with a fellow rapper and his wife.
She testified that this behavior escalated to secretly watching sexual activity. Specifically, she said she contacted Anton, a sex worker she and Combs frequently employed, and that during a trip, a group of people observed him engaging in sexual activity with a woman in a hotel room.
Jane informed Combs’ lawyer, Geragos, that the music executive was angry because he believed she had gone to a sexually suggestive party with another man.

On the 21st day of the Combs trial, a prosecutor named Maurene Comey told the court that the government wants to dismiss one of the jurors.
She told Judge Subramanian, just before the jury came in, that they were hesitant to submit the letter because it seemed dishonest and created significant concerns for them.
Defense lawyer Alexandra Shapiro, noting that Juror No. 6 is one of the Black jurors, requested a day or two to prepare a written response and review relevant legal precedents.
Judge Subramanian stated he would postpone addressing any logistical issues concerning the juror until a ruling is reached.

On June 10th, Jane and Garagos had a heated discussion where Garagos implied the witness was exchanging sexual favors for expensive gifts.
Attorney Mark Geragos reviewed text messages from November 2021 between Jane Doe and Sean “Diddy” Combs. The messages showed the witness was distressed by Combs having sexual relations with other women. In the texts, she questioned Combs about whether he had gifted one of these women a Chanel bag after their encounter.
Jane said that she didn’t get a Chanel purse from Combs, telling Garagos that she “got trauma.”
When the attorney asked what a Bottega bag was, she replied, “I’m sure you have one.”
And when Geragos asked how much the item costs, Jane asked, “How much does my body cost?”
Jane was granted a 10-minute break following the exchange.

Jane stated that in 2022, after researching their relationship, she came to believe Combs engaged in, or was interested in, cuckoldry – a practice where someone derives pleasure from their partner having sexual relations with another person.
She explained that the research helped her better understand why people enjoyed watching their partners with other men. She was trying to fully explore all the reasons behind that enjoyment.
The witness suggested that Combs’ interest in “hotel nights” – which closely resembled the experiences described by Ventura as “freak offs” – might stem from him exploring his own sexuality.
She explained that some individuals might be secretly curious about things they’re too embarrassed to try personally, and instead live out those curiosities through another person.

Jane stated she’d given the escort, Paul—whom she and Combs hired several times—the nickname “Trifecta,” comparing their sexual relationship to the winning performance of basketball players.
“I was Kobe Bryant and Paul was Shaq [O’Neil],” she told jurors. “Combs was Michael Jordan.”
She said Paul was very kind and, when discussing her past use of escorts, mentioned she preferred those who felt warm and approachable, even in those situations.

Jane stated that the relationship between Combs and Khorram caused problems in her own romantic relationship with the music executive.
Jane explained that Khorram was constantly with her husband, Sean, which created problems in their marriage. She felt Khorram had strong feelings for her, and that those feelings affected how Sean behaved towards her.

On June 10th, Judge Subramanian rejected a request for a mistrial from Combs’ lawyers. They had argued that Ventura and her friend, Bryana Bongolan, falsely claimed Combs had threatened to drop Bongolan from a 17th-floor balcony.
His attorneys, who had previously asked for a mistrial but were turned down, claimed in their latest filing that the prosecution acted improperly by presenting false testimony.
According to a recent letter, the government presented evidence in court that they either knew was false, or should have known was false, regarding their claim that Mr. Combs threatened Bryana Bongolan by holding her over the balcony of Cassie Ventura’s apartment in September 2016. The letter argues that because of this, the judge should declare a mistrial to prevent an unfair outcome.

Jane alleged that the rap mogul had beaten her for hours June 2024.
Jane stated that an argument with Combs started because he was seeing a much younger woman – 25 years his junior. This argument, she said, resulted in her calling him a deeply offensive name and physically assaulting him by pushing his head into a marble countertop.
I heard in court that she hid in the main bedroom, and then Sean Combs started trying to break the door down – they even showed pictures of the damage! She testified that as she tried to get away, he kicked her in the back of her leg, causing her to fall. It was truly upsetting to hear.
She told the prosecutors that he grabbed her in a chokehold and lifted her off the ground, making it hard to breathe. She said she was desperately trying to escape his hold, and was forced to stand on her tiptoes while struggling.
Jane stated she fled her house and hid behind an outside wall for about two hours, hoping the person would go away, but they didn’t. She then said they both went back to his house, and she curled up in the backyard to shield herself while he allegedly attacked her.

Jane testified that the fight worsened after Combs supposedly hit her. She told the court he began punching her in the head, then started kicking her while yelling and continuing to punch her repeatedly.
She alleged that he told her that she was “trying to take him away from his kids and his family.”
I was so scared when I told him to stop, I really pleaded with him. I said, ‘No, I’m not. Just leave me alone, please just leave. Please stop!’ But he didn’t listen. He just grabbed my arm and pulled my hair, and started dragging me back towards the house – it was awful, he was pulling me by my hair and arm.
Jane reported that after the incident, she had two raised bumps about the size of golf balls on her forehead and a black eye.

Jane stated that Homeland Security Investigations raided her home—which Sean Combs had paid for in March 2023—as well as several other properties owned by him. She explained that when agents arrived at her house, she immediately contacted Combs’ head of security to inform him of the raid.

I was shocked to hear Jane claim that this powerful man threatened to ruin her life back in December 2023. Apparently, he said he’d release private videos of them and even show them to her child’s father. It’s just awful to think about.
Jane testified that as her relationship with Combs fell apart, he told her he had nothing to lose by making the videos public. She described it as a relentless series of pressure-filled phone calls.
Jane texted Khorram details of the incident, and this conversation was submitted as evidence. In her messages, Jane stated that Combs threatened to release a video showing her allegedly being “heavily drugged.”
She explained she needed space from Combs to heal from the emotional pain he inflicted.
Jane told the court that Khorram assured her that Combs would not use the footage.

During her court testimony, Jane stated that certain claims made in Ventura’s November 2023 lawsuit – which was later resolved – were similar to what she herself went through with Combs.
She told the jury, while crying, that she nearly passed out, and may have actually fainted. She explained that three particular pages contained deeply upsetting details that mirrored what she was going through.
Jane, a participant in the “hotel nights” events, shared that the experience felt deeply personal, like watching her own life unfold. This prompted her to reach out to Combs directly via text message.
After Ventura filed her lawsuit, the woman wrote, according to evidence presented, that reading it felt like reliving her own traumatic experiences. She described feeling deeply disturbed, saying the lawsuit detailed, almost verbatim, the same drug-fueled days and nights she had endured. She accused Ventura of anticipating this outcome and of manipulating her, leading her to question her own sanity.
Honestly, reading those messages broke my heart. She said she was completely disgusted, like she was being forced to keep going and going. It’s just… she felt so invalidated, like he made her question her own feelings about what happened – the trauma she was experiencing. She used such strong words, saying she felt completely violated, and that what he did was actually sexual exploitation. It’s awful, just awful to see her describe it like that. I feel so protective of her, and so angry at whoever did this.
Okay, so after all that, Combs actually called Jane – can you believe the nerve? – and secretly recorded their entire conversation! It was used as evidence, and honestly, it was chilling. He kept saying things like they “did these things together” and that this was the moment he needed her… needed her there. It was so manipulative, and I’ve replayed that part of the transcript a million times, trying to understand what he meant. It just gives me chills thinking about it.
Unaware she was being recorded, Jane told Combs she felt nauseous after reviewing Ventura’s documents.

Jane stated that during her involvement with Combs and male escorts in events called “Hotel Nights,” she frequently used ecstasy. However, one night she chose to remain drug-free while engaging in sexual activity with three men.
Oh my god, she actually said she was with other guys that night! It’s all coming back to me now… she even threw up, poor thing. And then he came in, Sean, and he was all comforting, saying she’d feel better and trying to get her out of there. It’s just… everything. He was so quick to ‘fix’ things, wasn’t he? I knew it! It was him all along.
Jane said that at the end of the night, she felt “absolutely terrible.”
