The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen has introduced a character as powerful as Sukuna, and this new character finally achieves something fans wished Gojo Satoru had done. As Modulo, the follow-up to Gege Akutami’s acclaimed series, nears its end, it’s wrapping up storylines for its main characters. Though shorter than anticipated, the sequel improves upon the original by offering a lasting solution to the problems within the world of Cursed Energy. Despite a few minor flaws, the ending provides several satisfying results, particularly in how it handles Dabura, a new and incredibly strong character from the Simurian race, giving him a definitive ending and accomplishing a long-held goal of Gojo’s.
Throughout much of the story, Gojo Satoru was the most powerful sorcerer, but he was still restricted by the strict rules and leadership of the Jujutsu world. These leaders often made decisions Gojo disagreed with and exerted their control over sorcerers. This conflict became especially clear during the Hidden Inventory arc, where Gojo directly expressed his wish to remove them from power. Even after he was trapped, they blamed him for the Shibuya Incident, falsely accusing him of being a key player. Gojo had strong motivations to go against them, but he didn’t get the chance. That’s why it’s so rewarding to see Dabura, facing a similar situation, accomplish what Gojo couldn’t before the story ends.
Modulo’s Dabura Carries Out the Act Fans Always Wanted to See Gojo Perform

I was absolutely blown away learning about Dabura! He’s known as the strongest of the Simurians, but it turns out he was in a really tough spot. His own clan leaders had cursed his sister, and he was forced to do whatever they wanted just to keep her safe. It was heartbreaking! But then Yuji came through with the Black Rope, and Dabura finally broke the curse! The instant his sister was free, everything changed. He completely turned on those who’d been controlling him, took them all down, and declared himself the new leader of the Deskunte. It was such a powerful moment – a true testament to family and freedom!
Dabura’s quick announcement of a reform followed by his resignation due to a lack of political skill echoes Gojo’s inability to fully execute his plan to overhaul the higher-ups. While Gojo understood the need to change the leadership and recognized that effective change required a political framework, he lacked the ability to navigate that system on his own. Many fans wanted to see Gojo personally reshape Jujutsu society, and the sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen offers a compelling parallel with Dabura, hinting at how Gojo’s attempt might have played out.
