The desert in Where Winds Meet is a dangerous place, filled with rough terrain, fierce sandstorms, and powerful creatures that have learned to thrive there. Watch out for large birds that attack in groups from above, and be wary of enemies like the Skeletal Bloom, which can ambush you from beneath the sand.

The beach now features new creatures, characters, and plants, including the Rainbone Flower. This flower has a strong link to the Skeletal Bloom, but be careful – it can be just as dangerous as it is beautiful.

How To Locate The Rainbone Flower

Okay, so I’ve been exploring and found out where to find Rainbone Flowers. They’re usually near interesting spots in the desert – think campsites where those Utuk Raptors hang out, and places with climbable trees that have shiny, blue loot. Sometimes you’ll find huge patches of them in villages, almost like flower farms. But honestly, they’re just scattered all over the place, popping up at different outposts and landmarks as you explore.

  • To find Rainbone Flower locations, open your bag and find the flowers you’ve already picked. Scroll to the bottom of the flower’s description and choose ‘Gather Rainbone Flowers.’ Then, zoom in on the map to see more places where you can collect them.

You’ll find Rainbone Flowers very commonly throughout the Hexi region of the map.

Attacks From A Rainbone Flower

Rainbone Flowers behave differently from one another. Some are simple to harvest, while others will briefly strike out at you. These attacks don’t cause much damage individually, but encountering many of these flowers can quickly chip away at your health. Keep in mind that this particular type of flower doesn’t drop any items when it’s defeated.

Okay, so figuring out if a Rainbone Flower is going to attack is pretty easy – just look at how big it is and how long its spines are. If I see one start moving, I usually just jump back to be safe. If I’m not quick enough, a little button prompt pops up on screen, and I gotta hit it to block the attack.

You can pick and keep the smaller Rainbone Flowers, but be careful! Not all of them are what they seem. Some are actually Skeletal Blooms disguised as flowers, and they’ll only reveal themselves when they start to move and an enemy springs up from the ground.

The Skeletal Bloom doesn’t emerge immediately, giving you a chance to escape if you don’t want to battle it.

How To Fight A Skeletal Bloom

Skeletal Blooms roam the desert and will attack if you get near them. You’re very likely to encounter one when you’re collecting Rainbone Flowers – they burst up from under the sand to attack. While you can try to escape, they’re not very difficult to beat if you know what you’re doing.

Staying on the defensive is crucial when fighting a Skeletal Bloom. They move like cats, quickly pouncing and whipping their tails. These tail attacks create fire, and they can even grab and throw you. Be prepared to thrust your weapon and dodge when they spin or prepare to attack, and try to position yourself to their side.

While most weapons work well against Skeletal Blooms at higher levels, the Umbrella appears to be especially good at defeating them.
