Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle branded a “coward” as Sarah Sugden fumes over his secret in early ITVX release

There’s a lot of weight on Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) shoulders in Emmerdale at the moment.

Robert’s life is falling apart: his family farm is failing, he’s had to sell half of it to Joe Tate, his wife Moira is wrongly in prison, and he’s just learned he has an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

Cain is only telling a few people about his medical condition: Dr. Liam Cavanagh, surprisingly, Graham Foster, and his granddaughter Sarah Sugden.

She encouraged him to steal expensive cars, hoping the money would save the farm and distract him from his current troubles.

They both stole a few motors, but he tried to convince her to stop, worried about how it would affect her future.

Yesterday, the mystery started to come undone when she couldn’t resist stealing Dr. Caitlin Todd’s (Caroline Harker) new sports car, which was parked outside the village hall. Her husband, Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), caught her and demanded an explanation.

Sarah confessed she was collaborating with the man she affectionately called ‘Grumpy,’ but she didn’t reveal he was battling cancer.

Jacob was incredibly angry and rushed over to Cain’s garage to confront him about their reckless actions. Sarah’s grandmother, Charity Dingle, happened to overhear the argument and was equally upset.

Cain dodged questions and walked off, only to run into another concerned neighbor. Liam started to worry that stealing cars with Sarah meant his plan to hide his medical condition was falling apart.

Liam realized that his family wasn’t giving him the care and support he needed because of their impulsive choices.

After reconciling with Jacob, Sarah went to Butler’s Farm to talk to Cain. She explained she was tired of covering for him, and since no one else knew he was unwell, she was struggling to justify his actions.

She harshly called him a coward, expressing her disappointment that someone she saw as strong wasn’t being honest with his family.

Will Liam and Sarah’s words resonate with Cain?
