Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses an Astonishing 5 Million Sales in Its First Week

The newest Resident Evil game, Requiem, is already proving to be a big hit with players. It’s off to a remarkably successful launch.

The publisher announced that the new release has already sold over 5 million copies since it came out on February 27, 2026 – reaching this impressive number in its first week!

Okay, so this is pretty huge! Apparently, Resident Evil 4 Remake took around four months to reach 6 million copies sold, and Resident Evil 5 did it even faster – just three months. But it looks like the new Requiem game is on track to be the fastest-selling Resident Evil game ever! It’s already doing incredibly well, and I think it’s going to break all the records.

For reference, the series as a whole sits at 183 million units sold, as of 31st December 2025.

Okay, so the newest Resident Evil game is getting amazing reviews and everyone seems to absolutely love it. It looks like Capcom has another huge hit on their hands, which is awesome for the series!

Requiem lets you switch between playing as Grace and Leon, two characters with distinct styles, blending the series’ signature survival horror with fast-paced action.

This month marks 30 years of the Resident Evil series, and this is a fantastic way to begin the celebrations.
