The rhythm-based roguelike game Ratatan is officially launching on July 16th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam). The publishers, Game Source Entertainment, and developers, TVT and Ratata Arts, have confirmed that versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the original Nintendo Switch are no longer in development.
Ratatan first launched in Early Access for PC on September 19, 2025.
Here is an overview of the game, via Ratata Arts:
Ratatan is a fast-paced, rhythmic game where you battle to the beat. It’s a rogue-lite, meaning levels change with each playthrough, and you collect and customize your own army of Cobuns. You’ll march across the vibrant world of Redo, defeating enemies along the way, either solo or with friends!
I first heard about Ratatan back in 2023 when its Kickstarter absolutely blew up – over 14,000 people backed it, and they made over $1.4 million! I jumped in when it launched on Steam Early Access in September 2025, and it was awesome – over 100,000 copies sold in just the first month! The team behind it is seriously talented – they’ve got people who used to work at Sony Japan, including Hiroyuki Kotani. They’ve been consistently adding free updates on PC since then, and it’s been great to see the game grow. Now, they’re taking the next big step by bringing Ratatan to consoles, which I’m super excited about!
TVT Studios and Ratata Arts are grateful for all the support from fans and ask for a little patience as they prepare to share details about bringing Ratatan to consoles in the coming weeks.
