The House of Hikmah launches April 8

Lunacy Studios announced that their 3D adventure game, The House of Hikmah, will be available on Steam for PC on April 8th. The game features full voice acting and tells a story about dealing with grief, understanding what we leave behind, and finding meaning after a major loss.

According to Lunacy Studios’ creative director, Faris Attieh, the team aimed to craft a story about overcoming grief that would resonate with everyone. They achieved this partly by showing how Maya’s father influenced the scholars she meets, highlighting his lasting impact. This also allowed them to uniquely represent the Islamic Golden Age, something rarely seen in video games, according to a press release.

The House of Hikmah is a story-rich 3D adventure game where you’ll explore themes of grief and legacy as you seek answers after a significant loss. You’ll solve puzzles and meet famous scholars from the Islamic Golden Age, discovering enduring wisdom within a stunningly realized House of Wisdom.

After her father passes away, Maya finds herself inside the House of Wisdom, a beautiful and otherworldly place filled with knowledge from throughout history. Using a strange device to change objects, she has to solve puzzles to move through worlds inspired by famous historical figures. With each puzzle she solves, Maya learns more about her father’s life, but she also discovers dangerous secrets she might not be prepared for.
