Assassin’s Creed Shadows Enters ‘Final Phase of Support’, But ‘Surprises’ Are Still Coming

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is nearing its one-year mark, but it won’t receive the same extended support as the previous game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which had a full second year of updates.

According to Jean Guesdon, the head of the franchise, support for Shadows is winding down and nearing completion.

In a recent blog post discussing the future of Assassin’s Creed, Guesdon announced that support for Shadows will soon be coming to an end. While they’ll be releasing fewer updates as they wrap things up, he hinted that there are still a few surprises in store.

The latest update for Shadows, version 1.1.8 released in February, finally lets players control jumps manually. It also addressed a number of minor bugs and problems.

It seems this is the update Guesdon was talking about. Sadly, it’s probably time to accept that there won’t be any more downloadable content or expansions for Shadows.

Still, it’ll be interesting to see what these “surprises” that Guesdon teases entail.

Despite only receiving one major expansion – Claws of Awaji, which wasn’t a huge hit – Shadows has been consistently improved with substantial updates. These updates have often made significant positive changes to the game.

We’re almost finished with Shadows, just a few things left! If you have any final suggestions for the title, please share them in the comments below. Let us know your thoughts one last time!
