Suikoden: The Anime airs in October, first trailer

Konami has announced that the anime adaptation of Suikoden II, titled Suikoden: The Anime, will premiere in October. A first look trailer has also been revealed.

Introduction

I thought if I was that strong, I could protect everyone.

Riliu and his close friend Jowy were both part of a youth military group in their homeland, the Highland Kingdom. This powerful nation was located in the northeastern part of the Dunan region.

We both gazed up at the stars, shared a tent for the night, and honestly, we were both hoping for the same outcome. It felt good to have that shared belief. Once the battle was done and the night passed, we knew things would probably go back to normal, but for a little while, it was like we were on the same page.

Despite their best hopes, the two boys found themselves caught up in the chaos of war, pulled along by events beyond their control.

Once helpless, the boys now possessed incredible power. As 108 stars glimmered in the dim distance, they moved forward, each searching for a solution to an unanswerable question, guided by their own convictions.

Cast

  • Riliu (voiced by Toshiki Kumagai) – Raised in Kyaro, a town in Highland Kingdom, and a member of the Unicorn Youth Brigade. Riliu was adopted by Genkaku when he was still young, and grew up alongside Nanami and Jowy. He has a gentle nature, and deeply cares for his friends.
  • Jowy (voiced by Shimba Tsuchiya) – Riliu’s longtime friend and a member of the Unicorn Youth Brigade. He is a part of the Atreides family, a noble family in Kyaro, but the family name has burdened him from childhood. Behind his gentle and intelligent personality, he hides his strong belief and resolve.
  • Nanami (voiced by Ayumi Hinohara) – Adopted and raised by Genkaku like Riliu and is his stepsister. Always donning a smile on her face, she is always upbeat and energetic, however, can be a little too over-bearing at times. She is in charge of the house while Riliu is fighting in the brigade.
  • Viktor (voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi) – A cheerful and daring mercenary of the Jowston City-States, known as “Vagabond Viktor.” Having many battles behind him, his skills are high. He swings around his giant sword with ease on the battlefield, but off of it, he also has a sharp eye for people, and has a friendliness that allows him to easily blend in.
  • Flik (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) – A swordsman with a memorable blue cloak and keen eyes, known as “Flik of the Blue Lightning.” Longtime partners with Viktor, he takes pride in what he does and has a logical mindset. From time to time, he may say some harsh things, but they’re all backed up with a strong sense of responsibility and his deep caring for his friends.
  • Luca Blight (voiced by Taku Yashiro) – Prince of the Highland Kingdom and Commander of the First Corps of Highland Army. He reigns over others through fear and force, leaving a trail of blood and despair in his wake, making him known as the “Mad Prince.”
  • Jillia Blight (voiced by Chika Anzai) – Princess of the Highland Kingdom, she has a completely opposite type of personality compared to her older brother, Luca, and is torn by the sacrifices and cruelty that war brings. She may appear reserved and docile, but she has a strong backbone and tries to stop her brother’s cruel ways.
  • Rowd (voiced by Akihiro Mine) – Soldier of the Highland Army and captain of the Unicorn Youth Brigade that Riliu and Jowy belong to. He is a man who has high ambitions and a love for money, and so is quite unsatisfied with his current position.
  • Pilika (voiced by Tsukino Chikasada) – A cheerful, pure, and good-hearted young girl that lives in Toto Village, a territory within Muse borders. She meets Jowy through a chance encounter and grows to love him like family.
  • Luc (voiced by Ayumu Murase) – An apprentice of Leknaat, overseer of fate. Highly skilled in magic and equally sharp with his tongue.
  • Shu (voiced by Takeo Otsuka) – A strategist with a critical eye to broadly assess any battle scene at hand, and a deeply logical mind that enables him to make swift decisions. He is brilliant and was the most senior student of genius strategist Mathiu Silverberg, but was expelled, and currently lives in Radat, living as a trader.
  • Apple (voiced by Yoshino Aoyama) – A young strategist, student of genius strategist Mathiu, and Shu’s sister-student. She stands up to stop Luca’s rampant cruelty, which seeks to destroy all in its path.
  • Mukumuku (voiced by Masato Niwa) – A flying squirrel born in Greenhill Forest and an old friend of Riliu. When Riliu is out serving in the army, he spends his time with Nanami.
