Developer Full Circle has officially released details about Season 3 for Skate, their free-to-play skateboarding game currently in early access.
The new season begins on March 10th and offers a lot of exciting content. However, player engagement has dropped recently, and it may be challenging to regain their interest.
Season 3 introduces a revamped starting island called the Isle of Grom. It’s the same place where new players begin, but it’s now much larger and features completely new areas to explore.
This seems promising, but it initially requires a purchase, and even after that initial period, you’ll need to use in-game currency to access it. This has upset many Skate players.
Elsewhere in Season 3, you’re getting the following:
- A 70s-inspired visual makeover
- Graphical improvements
- New spot: Tri Towers Parking Garage
- New Speedlines mode
- Loadouts feature for quick access to sets of cosmetics
- Tattoos
- Dark tricks (dark slides, dark flips) and improved Boneless tricks
- Improvements and additions to Replay Editor
There are further improvements made to the UI and a new Skate Pass to progress through.
This update seems like a solid improvement to the game and is likely worth trying. However, the inaccessible island and the recent news about layoffs at the development studio, Full Circle, have left many players feeling disappointed.
