Mario Kart World Leak Teases Return of Fan-Favorite Mode From Double Dash

Recent leaks suggest that a popular game mode from Mario Kart: Double Dash will be coming to Mario Kart World. Since its release with the Switch 2 last year, Mario Kart World hasn’t received any significant updates, though some patches have improved the game. Players have been eager for new content like modes or tracks, and it now appears those additions might be arriving soon.

Nintendo announced on its website that it’s hosting special events for Mario Kart World throughout March to celebrate “Mario Day” on March 10th. They also included a picture from the game’s menu that looks different from what players currently see. The Battle Mode icon now shows a Bob-Omb, which wasn’t there before, suggesting that the popular Bob-Omb Blast course will soon be added to Mario Kart World with an upcoming update.

What Is This Mario Kart Mode?

Bob-Omb Blast is a chaotic and popular battle mode that originally appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash and returned in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. In this mode, players only use Bob-Ombs to attack each other, creating a fast-paced and frantic experience. Fans have loved it for over 20 years and were eager to have it included in MK World.

The potential return of Bob-Omb Blast to Mario Kart World suggests Nintendo might be planning more significant updates for the game. While they could simply add Bob-Omb Blast on its own, it’s likely this could be part of a larger update that includes other new features and content.
