The game Marathon has just been released, and many players are curious about our PlayStation 5 review. This is a significant new game from Sony, and it’s the first major title to come from their $3 billion investment in Bungie.
The truth is, you won’t read our review for a little while.
Because this game is constantly being updated, it will change and improve over time. A key part of that, the Cryo Archive area – which promises challenging puzzles and intense, close-up fighting – won’t be available until later this month.
Bungie requested that reviewers wait to publish scores until the game is fully available, and we are honoring their request.
Just to be clear, we’re not obligated to review this game right now. Like any publication, we have the freedom to share our rating whenever we want. We expect some other websites will be doing so as well.
We want to give a complete and thorough review, so we’re holding off on publishing it until we’ve had a chance to fully experience the game’s end-game content.
We understand this is an unexpected delay and that many of you were hoping to see your scores right away. In the meantime, we invite you to check out our detailed feedback from the recent Server Slam.
We’ll be back later in the month with our full review, so stay tuned.
