The Abandoned PS5 Fiasco of 2021 Has Been Resurrected, Dev Testing Abandoned: Gospels of Blood

Oh no, not this nonsense again.

Even though Hasan Kahraman’s 2021 attempt to create buzz with a misleading game linked to Silent Hill and Hideo Kojima failed spectacularly, he still seems determined to develop a similar project.

A game listing called “Abandoned: Gospels of Blood” appeared on Kahraman’s PlayStation Network profile, likely for internal testing. While it’s unlikely to ever be released, it seems Kahraman is still working on a project of some kind.

The game Abandoned first appeared with a strange post on the PlayStation Blog that seemed almost too good to be true – and it turned out to be. Almost immediately after the post went live, the internet buzzed with speculation, linking Abandoned to Hideo Kojima and the Silent Hill franchise. This wasn’t surprising, as Kojima had previously used a similar tactic with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, initially presenting it as a project from a different studio, Moby Dick Studio.

Blue Box Game Studios, the developers of Abandoned, quickly dismissed rumors linking them to Hideo Kojima. They explained they were simply a small team dedicated to creating a game they’d been wanting to make for years.

Several months later, the developers fueled speculation by hinting that Abandoned was secretly a Silent Hill game, a series Hideo Kojima had been involved with after the cancellation of Silent Hills. They announced a PS5 app that would offer a live look at the game, but it faced repeated delays. When a teaser video finally arrived in August 2021, it turned out to be the same clip that had already been shared online.

The game was essentially abandoned after that, and no one has heard about it since. There was a rumor of a demo being released in early 2022, but that never materialized.

It seems Hasan Kahraman, the creator of Abandoned, still hopes to release the game, now calling it Abandoned: Gospels of Blood. However, it’s highly unlikely anyone will ever actually get to play it.
