Trailers are out for many of the biggest movies coming this summer, but Marvel fans are still eager to see the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There was talk that a teaser might have played before Avatar: Fire and Ash, but instead, that movie was used to start promoting Avengers: Doomsday with four previews released over a month. Since Brand New Day comes out this July – five months before Doomsday – fans are starting to get anxious, and the latest news suggests the trailer might still be a while off.
According to the X account TrailerTrack, Sony is considering two options for releasing the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. They could show it in theaters alongside screenings of Project Hail Mary this month, keeping it exclusive to cinemas for a limited time before releasing it online. Alternatively, they might wait until CinemaCon in April, specifically their presentation on April 13th. At the event, they would reveal the trailer and other exclusive clips to attendees before making it available to the public after the presentation.
When Will the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Release?

Both of these films have potential benefits for their release strategies. Project Hail Mary is the first major blockbuster of the year and is already creating a lot of excitement before it comes out in a few weeks. Early predictions suggest it could earn around $50 million domestically on its opening weekend, which means the trailer for Brand New Day would be shown to a large audience, helping to build anticipation for the next Marvel movie. Since Sony is distributing Project Hail Mary internationally, they could also use the Spider-Man trailer to encourage more people to see Project Hail Mary in theaters.
Sony’s plan to present at the start of CinemaCon makes a lot of sense. All attention will be on them on April 13th when they show off their upcoming movies. Releasing the trailer for the highly anticipated Brand New Day during their presentation would create a big impact and generate a lot of buzz – similar to how they debuted the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer at CinemaCon in 2021. The only potential issue is that other studios will also be making announcements throughout the week, which could steal some of the spotlight from Brand New Day. However, given how popular Spider-Man is, Sony likely isn’t worried about that happening.
Marvel fans are already anxious for any news about Brand New Day, and a trailer release delayed until April will only add to their frustration. They’ve been waiting a long time for even a small preview, and the thought of waiting another month isn’t ideal. People are excited to finally see what Brand New Day is about and hope the trailer will answer some questions, like who Sadie Sink is playing. The longer Marvel holds off on releasing the trailer, the more impatient fans will become.
Sony isn’t worried about the slow start to marketing for the new Spider-Man movie. They faced a similar situation with No Way Home, where the first trailer didn’t appear until four months before the film came out. Sony knows how to quickly build excitement for Spider-Man movies, so the lack of trailers so far won’t hurt ticket sales. Even before seeing Tom Holland’s new suit, this movie was already one of the most anticipated films of 2026. The trailer could drop with Project Hail Mary, but it’s more likely Sony will save it for CinemaCon, where they can make it the highlight of their presentation and still release it in time for the summer movie season.
