Despite initially promising updates ‘when the time is right’ two years ago, Saber Interactive’s Tim Willits has now confirmed that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake is still being worked on. However, he couldn’t share any further information at this time.
He recently told IGN that the project is still being worked on, but couldn’t share any further details. It appears it’s not ready to be revealed just yet.
I’ve been hearing whispers for months about who’s working on the Dead Space remake, and it sounds like it’s really happening! Apparently, Mad Head Games, the team behind Scars Above, is involved, working with Saber. Neither studio has officially said anything, but Mad Head’s website hinted they’re developing a big, unannounced AAA game based on a really popular franchise that fans are going to be super excited about – and everything points to it being Dead Space!
Ever since it was first revealed in 2021 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has faced a lot of trouble. Originally being developed by Aspyr, the project was reportedly put on hold, and then Saber Interactive took over. After Saber Interactive became independent from Embracer Group, its CEO, Matthew Karch, assured fans the game was still in development. However, there haven’t been any significant updates – beyond some leaked concept art of the planet Kashyyyk – or even a glimpse of gameplay.
Good news for fans: Casey Hudson’s Arcanaut Studios is developing Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, a new game that will carry on the spirit of the original. Hudson promises it will be released before the end of the decade. You can find more information here.
