Okay, so Wolverine is famously the best at what he does, right? But I always thought it was cool how Captain America managed to actually stop him. We all know Logan and Cap are two of Marvel’s greatest fighters – Wolverine’s got that edge with the adamantium and healing, for sure. He’s faced down so many powerful enemies, and when he goes into a rage, it feels like nothing can hold him back. But Steve Rogers? He figured out how to take Wolverine down, and it wasn’t just about the fight – he really got under Logan’s skin.
Captain America Can Stop Wolverine by Crushing His Arms’ Tendons

In Wolverine: Origins #4, Captain America attempts to apprehend both Nuke and Wolverine, which leads to a confrontation between Wolverine and Captain America. While Wolverine isn’t intimidated, he’s confident he could win. However, Captain America quickly gains the upper hand by grabbing Wolverine’s wrists and applying intense pressure, effectively preventing him from extending his claws. This doesn’t completely incapacitate Wolverine, but it stops him from using his signature claw attack until he can recover.
What truly makes Captain America exceptional isn’t his powerful shield or enhanced strength, but his strategic thinking. Steve understands that in a direct fight, Wolverine is simply too strong to beat. So, he cleverly found a way to neutralize Wolverine’s biggest advantage. However, Wolverine isn’t easily defeated; he manages to seriously injure Captain America’s thigh. This shows how far Wolverine has to go – resorting to underhanded tactics – when he realizes he’s unexpectedly losing the battle.
Beating Wolverine in a fight is surprisingly difficult. He’s a seasoned warrior with years of combat experience, and even without his claws, he’s a formidable opponent. However, Wolverine relies heavily on those claws, and taking them away significantly weakens him. While it’s a dangerous tactic, it’s possible to disable his claws – essentially crippling him. It takes considerable strength to crush the tendons in his hands, but if someone as strong as Captain America can do it, other heroes and villains in the Marvel universe could potentially do the same.
