More than ten years ago, popular Transformers characters known as Autobots were brought to life in live-action movies. Now, a new toy of their leader has been released, closely resembling his look from those films.
The Transformers Studio Series Grimlock is a huge, Titan Class action figure that transforms between robot and dinosaur modes. Based on his movie appearance, he’s finished in a dark gray color and is much larger than other Transformers figures. Although details about when it will be released are still coming, it’s already confirmed to be an incredibly detailed toy and the most impressive Grimlock figure ever made.
Grimlock Transforms and Roars Out With New Studio Series Hasbro Release
The Titan Class Grimlock figure from the Transformers Studio Series is modeled after his appearance in the 2014 film, Transformers: Age of Extinction. A preview image of the toy has been released, and it appears to be the most accurate representation of the character yet.
This Grimlock figure has a detailed and intricate design in both robot and dinosaur forms – the dinosaur mode being a horned Tyrannosaurus Rex. Unlike the original 2014 toy, which had an unusual bronze and black color scheme, this version accurately reflects the character’s movie appearance with gray and dark green coloring. Sharp spikes cover his body, but that’s just one aspect of this complex figure.
Grimlock is a complex Transformer, needing around 60 steps to change forms – significantly more than the 30 steps required for other Leader Class figures. In robot mode, he’s armed with a powerful wrecking ball on his right arm and can also wield a large mace or staff using both hands.
Hasbro has only given us a first look at the Grimlock toy, and we don’t yet know when it will be available or how much it will cost. Considering he’s a very large Titan Class figure, it’s expected to be expensive. The box design has been revealed, featuring artwork from his battle in the movie, allowing fans to recreate the action with what’s shaping up to be a fantastic Grimlock figure.
