Spoilers for Scream 7 follow just below.
The latest Scream movie delivers a fresh wave of terrifying killings, and it doesn’t shy away from graphic violence. Similar to Scream VI, the film features three Ghostface killers responsible for the deaths. One of them, Karl Allan Gibbs, is quickly taken out of the picture after being hit by a van. That leaves Marco Davis and Jessica Bowden – a neighbor of Sidney’s and an overly enthusiastic fan with a skewed interpretation of events – to carry out the rest of the attacks. With a total of seven deaths in Scream 7, who is responsible for each one?
Let’s examine the deaths of characters as shown in the movie itself. We’re focusing on what happens on screen and won’t include events from the past, like the three deaths connected to Marco, or off-screen incidents, such as Jessica’s husband’s murder.
4) Scott & Madison — Marco Davis

Unlike previous installments, Scream 7 isn’t set in Woodsboro, California; the action now takes place in the fictional town of Pine Grove, Indiana. While both towns are made up, they’re located in real states that are quite far apart – over 30 hours by car or about four hours by plane. It’s likely the killer drove because flying would have created a clear record of their travel on the day of the initial crimes and their return before committing further acts.
Therefore, the attack on Scott and Madison’s Airbnb, which took place at the Stu Macher house, was committed by Marco. This is suggested by the subsequent scenes, which appear to happen the next morning. We see Jessica Bowden and Karl Allan Gibbs together at Sidney Prescott-Evans’ coffee shop, indicating their involvement or knowledge of the event.
3) Aaron & Hannah Thurman — Marco

The circumstances surrounding Aaron and Hannah’s deaths are less clear. While Marco, Jessica, or Karl could have committed the crimes after Marco returned from California, it seems improbable that Karl could have killed them, escaped, returned to the Evans house, and hidden in the attic. It’s more likely he was already hiding in the attic during the time of the killings.
That leaves us with Jessica and Marco, and the evidence still points to Marco being the killer. We don’t see Jessica at all during this part, and Ghostface’s movements seem a little more like Marco’s. Regardless, it definitely isn’t Karl, as he’s confirmed to be at the Evans house and therefore couldn’t have committed the murder – at least not during the events shown in the movie.
2) Chloe Parker & Lucas Bowden — Jessica

It’s clear Jessica was the one who attacked the bar, as she directly admits it when Ghostface is unmasked. Even if she doesn’t explicitly say it, she strongly suggests she’s responsible for killing her own son, Lucas, and therefore Chloe as well. This is a shocking reveal within the Scream series, and it makes the story even more impactful, particularly considering how violently Lucas dies.
This likely means Jessica was the person playing Stu in all those scenes. It fits, considering how much enjoyment “Stu” clearly gets from tormenting Sidney. This also sheds light on the confusing school scene: Jessica could have pretended to be Stu, warning Sidney about a planned attack on Aaron and Hannah while Marco was already inside. She then sent the message and hurried to be with her son, Lucas, when the call about the shooting came in, creating an alibi. Because she was with Lucas, no one would suspect her involvement in the killings.
1) Ben Brown — Marco

It’s pretty clear that Jessica is the Ghostface we see chasing Tatum Evans outside the bar. However, things get complicated when we find out there’s another Ghostface after Tatum enters the bar with Sidney. This new Ghostface could be Marco, which would mean Jessica also killed Ben. It’s a bit confusing, though.
It’s more probable that Marco, not Jessica, is the primary attacker. The Ghostface figure in the coffee shop scene seems to move and act more like Marco than Jessica. A likely scenario is that Jessica followed Tatum, lost track of her, and then Marco began stalking Ben before finally catching up to Tatum. Marco then kills Ben and continues pursuing Tatum, eventually ending up in the coffee shop where Sidney is.
