5 Best Fights in DC K.O., Ranked

DC K.O. was a major event for the company, built up over a year during the ‘All In’ period. It marked the return of the incredibly powerful Darkseid as King Omega, and to defeat him, DC’s heroes and villains competed in a fighting tournament to determine their own King Omega. The event was an all-out battle featuring both well-known and lesser-appreciated characters. It created a lot of dramatic tension, often forcing friends to fight each other. Each match wasn’t just a fight, but a tribute to the characters involved, drawing on their long histories and celebrating their various eras.

The event felt like a massive, exciting playfight, and it delivered some truly memorable battles. Almost every fight was worthy of being highlighted, but we’ve narrowed it down to the very best. Today, we’re ranking the top five fights from the journey to crowning King Omega. There were plenty of great moments, but these five stood out as particularly special or simply awesome. Let’s get straight to it and find out which fight reigns supreme!

5) Wonder Woman and Big Barda vs. Cyborg and Connor Hawke

Although this battle wasn’t particularly long, it was remarkable enough to discuss. The final eight fighters paired up, creating a matchup of the world’s most dangerous women against Cyborg and Green Arrow (who is often underestimated). While Team Wonder had a significant advantage, Cyborg evened things out by connecting himself to Green Arrow with nanobots. This boosted Connor’s strength and resilience to Cyborg’s level, and it gave Cyborg access to Connor’s incredible fighting abilities.

Everyone expected a quick and easy win, but the fight turned out to be surprisingly close. Both Cyborg and his opponent showed their strengths, which was great considering they often don’t get the credit they deserve. However, Wonder Woman and Big Barda truly stole the show, winning with an amazing team attack: Barda punched Wonder Woman’s bracelets with enough force to create a powerful shockwave that knocked their opponents away. The exciting finish left fans wanting more, and Wonder Woman even asked Barda for advice on winning future tournaments, proving she’s always thinking several steps ahead, just like Cyborg.

4) Aquaman vs. Hawkman

Aquaman and Hawkman, often the targets of fan jokes, proved their strength and worth in an intense battle. While both are incredibly powerful – capable of damaging even Superman and Wonder Woman – they’re often underestimated. This fight highlighted their abilities, with Hawkman initially gaining the upper hand due to his wings. Fighting on land, he used aerial maneuvers that Aquaman couldn’t counter, giving him a significant advantage.

Aquaman usually struggles against Hawkman’s quick movements, but he recently gained the power to control all water, becoming a powerful avatar. He used this ability to create a massive wave from deep underground, defeating Hawkman in their first match. In the second round, Hawkman received the gift of infinite strength from the god Horus. Determined to win, Hawkman flew Aquaman into orbit, but Aquaman countered with a shocking display of power, controlling the blood within Hawkman’s body. It was a gruesome, yet impressive, victory. This fight proved that both Aquaman and Hawkman are truly formidable heroes and deserve to be taken seriously.

3) Superman vs. Darkseid

As expected, the ultimate battle came down to Superman and Darkseid. After being brought back to life by Doomsday, Superman defeated Lex Luthor and became Earth’s King Omega. This set the stage for a clash between two beings capable of reshaping the universe. Their fight spanned across all of time and space, with each hit threatening to alter reality itself. Darkseid seemed to be gaining the upper hand, forcing Superman back towards the dawn of time, but this was all part of Superman’s plan. He was intentionally letting Darkseid push him back so he could absorb the energy of the Big Bang and deliver a devastating counterattack.

The inhabitants of Apokalips actually rooted for Superman, but true to form, he chose to save the day rather than get everything he wanted. He destroyed the Heart of Apokalips, calling in every DC hero to push Darkseid back to his own universe. They won, but it was a temporary victory – Superman believes they can find a lasting solution where everyone benefits. The battle was a fantastic ending to the tournament, though it would have been even better if we’d seen more of Darkseid’s side. He felt a bit generic, and exploring the unique relationship between him and Superman would have made this fight truly exceptional.

2) Superboy-Prime vs. The Legion of Darkseid

Surprisingly, this battle wasn’t part of the main tournament. Superboy-Prime, a robotic Superman, and a superpowered Lois Lane found themselves fighting the Legion of Super-Heroes. Superboy-Prime finally let go of his fears and unleashed his full power, quickly defeating the Legion. At the same time, Lois and Saturn Girl engaged in a psychic battle. Saturn Girl tried to break Lois’s spirit by revealing Superman’s tournament loss, but Lois delved into Saturn Girl’s own memories, uncovering a hidden romance with Lightning Lad.

Ultimately, Prime decided against killing everyone after Lois persuaded Saturn Girl that violence wasn’t the solution. This conflict represented the peak of Prime’s growth as a character, demonstrating his genuine desire to be a hero, and also hinted at a lingering goodness within Darkseid’s Legion. A particularly touching moment occurred when Prime asked the fatally wounded Superman Robot why he’d fought someone who could manipulate metal, and the robot replied that it was simply what Superman would have done. This battle showcased Superboy-Prime at his finest, and when he’s at his best, he truly stands out as one of the greatest heroes.

1) Superman and Shazam vs. the Green Lanterns

The showdown between Superman and Guy Gardner was easily one of the most exciting matches. These two DC heroes are incredibly powerful, but their approaches to fighting are completely different – Guy is an aggressive brawler, while Superman always tries to resolve things peacefully. Like Wonder Woman’s fight before it, this was a team battle – Superman and Shazam versus Guy Gardner and Hal Jordan. Just imagining that fight – a combination of creative strategies and raw power – was worth the price of admission! While Superman’s team was stronger overall, the Lanterns were clever, and Hal Jordan even managed to temporarily trap Superman using a powerful energy construct.

The fight reached its peak when Superman asked Shazam to share his powers, which Shazam gladly did. The combined result, Super-Shazam, instantly became one of the most powerful and visually impressive heroes around—his look even reminded people of Dragon Ball Z! He quickly finished the battle, but that didn’t diminish the incredible fight that had taken place. As a long-anticipated showdown, it lived up to the hype, being imaginative, spectacular, and a great showcase for each character’s strengths. This fight perfectly captured what the tournament was all about.
