The TV anime series My Hero Academia concluded its initial run with its eighth season last year. Now, a true final episode has been scheduled for release this Spring. My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, which premiered last Fall, showed Izuku Midoriya and the heroes wrapping up their battle against the villains. However, manga readers knew this wasn’t the complete ending, as the series creator, Kohei Horikoshi, continued the story with an official epilogue.
After the conclusion of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON last year, it was announced that the anime would continue with an adaptation of the epilogue story created by Horikoshi. This new special, arriving in May as part of the Spring 2026 anime lineup, will serve as the true finale, showing Izuku and his friends as adults continuing their lives as heroes. The special is titled “More,” and a release date in Japan has been confirmed.
My Hero Academia Episode 170+1 Confirms Release Date and Time

A new anime special titled “More” is coming, based on a bonus story from the final volume of the My Hero Academia manga. This story, chapter 431, was originally released after the manga concluded in Shonen Jump. The special, officially episode 170+1, will air in Japan on May 2nd. Good news for international fans – Crunchyroll will be streaming it in the United States and other regions.
Wow, the last episodes of My Hero Academia were incredible! Seeing Deku and everyone finally take down All For One and Shigaraki really brought that long villain war to a close. It was intense, and Deku really paid a price for it. The finale revealed he’s choosing a totally different path for his future, which was a surprise! But the very end gave us a glimpse of what his pro hero career could look like, and this new special is going to dive into that future we’re all so eager to see. I can’t wait!
What’s Next for My Hero Academia?

The latest episode of My Hero Academia gives fans a glimpse into the future for Deku and his fellow heroes, and there’s much more planned for the rest of the year. As the anime celebrates its 10th anniversary, several big events are scheduled to mark the occasion, including a large fan event in Japan this spring and a worldwide concert tour. Fans have a lot to look forward to!
This spring, fans of My Hero Academia can also enjoy new episodes of its prequel series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. The second season of the spinoff is nearing its conclusion, and it’s been filling in important backstory that adds depth to the main story. After this final special airs, the series will come to an end.
