Despite being a relatively short game and not a major release, Samson: A Tyndalston Story aims high. You play as a struggling fighter and driver who has to carefully plan illegal jobs to pay off debts, all while the city around him descends into chaos. Sound complicated? Let Samson break down a typical day in Tyndalston.
The game features brutal, close-quarters combat, and you can even enter a “rage” mode for extra power. Staying true to the developer’s idea that a fair fight is boring, you can also use whatever’s around you – like a wrench – to attack enemies. Not every encounter is winnable, especially against the toughest opponents, but you’ll always put up a fight until the very end.
The driving is intense – every crash feels significant, and the way cars realistically crumple and flip after impacts really adds to the experience. You can choose from eight different character classes, or ‘Jobs,’ and test your skills in over 30 unique combat arenas, whether you’re fighting on foot or behind the wheel.
The game Samson: A Tyndalston Story will be released on PC on April 8th and will cost $24.99. You can find more information about the game’s world – which was inspired by cities like Philadelphia and New York in the 1990s – at this link.
