3 Best Movies To Watch On Netflix This Weekend (#1 Is Leaving On Monday)

If you’re looking for something to watch on Netflix this weekend, now’s the time to catch a classic before it disappears from the service. Last week, I highlighted a few recommendations, including War Machine, Jurassic World Rebirth, and Fifty Shades of Grey.

Currently, no new Netflix Original movie is performing as well as Alan Ritchson’s War Machine, which continues to be a popular choice for viewers around the globe. However, Netflix subscribers still have plenty to enjoy, including another exciting sci-fi thriller starring a Marvel actor, and a truly classic film.

3. Jurassic World (2015)

Considering what people have been enjoying lately, the first Jurassic World movie seems like a great choice for a weekend watch. It’s perfect whether you’ve just seen Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World Rebirth and want to revisit the series, or if you’re completely new to the Jurassic World films.

As a huge movie fan, I always thought Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard had amazing chemistry in Jurassic World. He’s this rugged dinosaur trainer, Owen Grady, and she’s Claire Dearing, trying to keep the whole park running – total opposites! This film really brought the Jurassic Park series back to life, giving it a fresh, modern vibe. It’s packed with dinosaur action, but it doesn’t shy away from some genuinely tense and even dark scenes, which I really appreciated.

2. The Captive (2014)

After enjoying Chris Pratt’s latest Marvel film, many viewers are now discovering The Captive, a thriller starring Ryan Reynolds. It’s currently the 8th most popular movie on Netflix in the U.S. While it didn’t perform well in theaters – earning only $2.1 million – it’s gaining a new audience over a decade after its initial release.

Lots of people didn’t get a chance to see The Captive in cinemas, but it’s now a popular hit on Netflix. The film centers around Matthew Lane, played by Reynolds, whose 9-year-old daughter is kidnapped when he briefly loses track of her. The story jumps between different time periods – showing flashbacks to when she disappeared and present-day scenes where new evidence suggests she might still be alive.

1. Titanic (1997)

James Cameron’s Titanic remains one of the most successful films ever made. The movie recounts the famous disaster that continues to captivate audiences years later. It’s a timeless classic, perfect for a weekend viewing – and it will soon be leaving Netflix after this last chance to watch.

Titanic will be leaving Netflix next Monday, March 16th, and that’s encouraging many people to watch it now. Plus, with the Oscars happening this Sunday, March 15th, it’s a great movie to watch in that spirit.

Leonardo DiCaprio might just win another Oscar for his work in One Battle After Another, so why not get ready by watching one of his classic films on Netflix?
