If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, March 13–15, 2026, Prime Video has some fantastic new shows that are currently popular. As winter winds down and spring approaches, these three shows are perfect for a binge-watching session.
Last week, Ebaster highlighted some great shows to watch on Prime Video, including the popular crime comedy Deadloch before its new season arrives, and well-loved classics like The Practice and The Expanse. This week, Ebaster’s picked the top 3 most talked-about series currently on Prime Video – they’re definitely worth checking out!
56 Days
Since its release in mid-February, “56 Days” has quickly become a huge hit on Prime Video. This 8-episode thriller blends suspense, a murder mystery, and romantic elements, making it perfect for a weekend binge. Based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s novel, “56 Days” is currently the third most popular series on Prime Video worldwide.
Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about 56 Days, and after finally watching it, I can see why it’s been trending! It’s a really gripping mystery – a proper ‘whodunnit’ – and the leads, Avan Jogia and Dove Cameron, are fantastic. The show has clearly resonated with viewers, boasting a solid 76% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. If you’re looking for something to watch on Prime Video this weekend and haven’t already given 56 Days a chance, I definitely recommend it.
Young Sherlock
Similar to 56 Days, Young Sherlock is a popular 8-part mystery series on Prime Video. As a prequel to the classic Sherlock Holmes stories, it was co-created by Guy Ritchie, the director of the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film starring Robert Downey Jr. The series centers around a young Sherlock Holmes investigating his first murder, where he unexpectedly becomes the main suspect.
Prime Video’s Young Sherlock was a major hit in 2026, receiving positive reviews and an 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its success, Amazon hasn’t yet announced a second season, though many expect one. With a TV-14 rating, the show is enjoyable for a wide range of ages and is currently one of the best series available on Prime Video.
Scarpetta
If you’re looking for a new show to watch on Prime Video this weekend, Scarpetta is a must-see. Based on the popular book series by Patricia Cornwell that started in 1990, this crime thriller boasts an impressive cast including Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, and Simon Baker.
Nicole Kidman stars as Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a highly skilled forensic pathologist who investigates crimes using her specialized expertise. The new Prime Video series is based on Patricia Cornwell’s novels, combining elements from her 1990 debut, Postmortem, and her 2021 book, Autopsy. The eight-episode series follows Dr. Scarpetta as she attempts to uncover a serial killer by linking crimes that occurred years apart.
As of today, Scarpetta is the most popular show on Prime Video. All eight episodes became available on March 11th, and a second season is already planned. With a 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a great story based on popular books, and a talented cast, Scarpetta is quickly becoming the must-watch show on Prime Video this weekend.
