The MCU’s X-Men Reboot Already Has the Perfect Jubilee With Trinity Bliss

An actress known for her role in James Cameron’s Avatar movies recently discussed the possibility of playing Jubilee in a new Marvel film. Although a director, Jake Schreier, has been chosen for the Thunderbolts movie, the cast hasn’t been officially announced yet. Despite Marvel’s silence, there’s a lot of speculation about who will be chosen to play the next version of the X-Men team.

With rumors suggesting Marvel is focusing on a younger team for the X-Men, fans have been suggesting actors like Patrick Schwarzenegger, Margaret Qualley, Harris Dickinson, Jayme Lawson, Taron Egerton, and Sadie Sink for various mutant roles. Trinity Bliss, who many fans believe would be perfect as the young mutant Jubilee, recently addressed the speculation about her potentially being cast.

Trinity Bliss Wants to Play Jubilee in the MCU & She’d Be Perfect

I still remember being so excited when I first saw Avatar: The Way of Water back in 2022 – Trinity Bliss, who played young Tuktirey, was just incredible! She was only nine when she got that role back in 2017, and it really launched her career. Since then, she’s shown off her acting skills in things like Princess Power and The Life of Chuck, and of course, she’s back in Avatar: Fire and Ash. I’ve been seeing online that fans really want her to play Jubilee, and she actually talked about it with The Direct! She said she’s a big fan of the X-Men and would love to play her, but she hasn’t been cast yet. Fingers crossed, though – I think she’d be perfect!

Trinity Bliss is a rising star with enough public awareness to potentially revitalize a well-known character like Jubilee. At just 16, she has the experience, background, and genuine enthusiasm – she’s even publicly expressed her desire to play the role – making her a strong candidate.

Jubilee Was Repeatedly Wasted & Neglected in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Franchise

I first encountered Jubilee way back in the late 80s, in an old issue of The Uncanny X-Men – she was this really cool, energetic kid who just kinda…followed the X-Men around on a mission! While she’s always been a fun character, I think she really shined in the animated series, especially the recent X-Men ’97 revival. Honestly, though, I’ve been a little disappointed with how she’s been treated in the live-action Marvel movies – the animated version just captures her spirit so much better.

Throughout the X-Men film series, 20th Century Fox tried several times to establish Jubilee as a memorable character, but never quite succeeded. Katrina Florece first played Jubilee, a student at Xavier’s school, in the 2000 film X-Men. However, she was soon replaced by Kea Wong for the next two films, X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). Even after the timeline was altered in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), Jubilee remained a minor character with no opportunity to showcase her abilities.

Jubilee’s role in X-Men: Apocalypse was significantly reduced during editing, highlighting Fox’s lack of interest in the character. Fortunately, Marvel Studios has already given Jubilee a prominent position in X-Men ’97, and fans hope to see that continue in the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her power to create fiery, explosive blasts would be a visually exciting addition to the upcoming X-Men reboot, and Trinity Bliss would be a fantastic choice to play the young mutant hero.
