Bandai Namco has released the major 3.0 update for Tekken 8, delivering on their promise to simplify the game after players shared feedback during Season 2.
Season 3 is now live, bringing major improvements to game balance and a lot of other exciting changes! You can download the update today.
We’re not listing every single change in this update because the number of adjustments, especially to individual characters, is extremely large.
Before the balancing, though, let’s quickly go over the other changes included.
This update brings Season 3 content to the in-game shop, like the new Round 9 Fight Pass. It also resets and adjusts player ranks for the new season and includes improvements to matchmaking, customization options, and other areas of the game.
This update focuses on balancing all the fighters by carefully examining their strengths, weaknesses, and unique abilities. The aim is to make each character feel more distinct and impactful during normal gameplay and strategic interactions.
This update aims to balance the risks and rewards within the game’s systems and each character’s special abilities. It continues the work of fixing situations where certain actions give players an unfair advantage or overly large benefits.
We’ve fixed a problem with air combos. Previously, landing a Heat Engager while grounded, then immediately using Heat Dash, could create unusually long combo chains. This has been adjusted in the latest update.
The latest update details all the specific changes, including improvements and reductions to character abilities, and even introduces completely new moves for some characters.
Tekken fans have a lot to learn with this new update, and it will likely take time for players to decide if the changes are improvements. We’re hoping it’s a positive move for the game.
