Good news for players hoping to team up in Marathon! A recent message from one of the game’s developers suggests that coordinated duo play will be very effective, even when facing opponents with more players or the challenging UESC bots.
A dedicated duo queue is now available in Perimeter! It launched at 10 AM PT on March 17th and will be running for approximately two weeks. The developers may end the queue early if they feel the testing phase is complete.
To team up with a friend, you’ll need to create a group before starting a match. During this test, you’ll only be matched against other duos. You can find the duo queue by selecting ‘Perimeter – Duos’ on the zone selection screen. If the test goes well, we might change how you access the queue later on.
Players have been asking for better duo options since the game launched, so this test is a good first step towards fixing that. Keep in mind there will likely be some problems – that’s the idea of a test! We’re already trying it out, but if you’re waiting for a teammate to join you in Tau Ceti IV, you can read what the game director, Joe Ziegler, has to say about the experiment.
