Line of Duty season 7 confirms new and returning cast members – including memorable Gavin & Stacey star

With the new season of Line of Duty starting filming soon, more actors have been added to the cast alongside Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure, Martin Compston, and Robert Carlyle.

The show features several familiar faces returning for another season, including Mark Bonnar as Mike Dryden, Owen Teale as Philip Osborne, Perry Fitzpatrick as Chris Lomax, and Christina Chong as Nicky Rogerson.

Joining the cast is Tom Weston-Jones (known for Sanditon), who will play Detective Inspector Dominic Gough. Gough is the head of Tactical Operations Unit 7 (TO-7) and has a successful record of dismantling organized crime rings. However, he’s also been accused of using his power to sexually exploit others.

Laura Aikman, known from Gavin & Stacey, Levi Brown from This Town, and Amy Leigh Hickman from You will play the roles of DC Paula Beckman, DC Luke Tobin, and DC Nira Rashid, respectively.

Joining the cast are David Calder, known for his work in ‘Rivals’; Steven Elder, from ‘Toxic Town’; Dominic Mafham, who starred in ‘Vigil’; Sarah Andre White, of ‘What It Feels Like for a Girl’; Aimee Powell, appearing in ‘Believe Me’; and Naomi Yang, recognized from ‘Under Salt Marsh’.

Jed Mercurio, the creator of Line of Duty, expressed his excitement about the new cast additions, saying he’s delighted to be working with them and believes viewers will be happy to see some familiar actors return.

Simon Heath, the CEO and creative director of World Productions, expressed his excitement about the new cast joining the show alongside returning favorites. He said they are thrilled to welcome so many talented actors, both new and established.

Shalom Brune-Franklin, who played DCI Chloe Bishop in season six of the show, won’t be returning for the new season.
