The popular series Good Omens is coming back for a last season, and a recently released photo shows David Tennant, who plays the demon Crowley, looking very angry.
The third season of Good Omens will be a single, extended episode released on Prime Video later this year. While the show was initially renewed for a complete final season—with the first two seasons each having six episodes—production plans changed after allegations of sexual assault against Neil Gaiman, the show’s creator and co-author of the original book with the late Sir Terry Pratchett, came to light.
Michael Sheen returns as the kind-hearted angel Aziraphale in the upcoming season of Good Omens, joining David Tennant as Crowley. According to a recent social media post, Aziraphale is the only one who can make Crowley act completely wild. A new image hints that Aziraphale might be in trouble, explaining Crowley’s frustrated expression, though there could be more to the story. Crowley’s wild behavior in season 3 of Good Omens could be a result of something happening to Aziraphale. At the end of season 2, Crowley and Aziraphale confessed their feelings for each other, culminating in a passionate kiss before circumstances forced them apart. Aziraphale was offered a position in Heaven by the Metatron, while Crowley decided to stay on Earth, even though it meant being alone.
The final episode of Good Omens—a 90-minute special—has a lot to cover, including bringing Aziraphale and Crowley back together and potentially showing a last showdown between Heaven and Hell, with Earth as usual caught in the crossfire. Before recent allegations, author Neil Gaiman had shared that season 3 would be based on ideas for a sequel he and Terry Pratchett had previously discussed, but never written.
Neil Gaiman isn’t actively working on the show anymore, but he’ll still receive writing credit for the finale, suggesting the story will stay true to his and the other writer’s original vision. Last December, David Tennant mentioned seeing the final episode and praised it as wonderfully directed, with beautiful acting and impressive visuals, calling the work overall ‘incredible.’
Although the third season of Good Omens is shorter than previous seasons, which will likely speed up the ending, it will at least give Crowley and Aziraphale a proper conclusion after the frustrating cliffhanger at the end of season two.
Good Omens’ third and final season premieres on Prime Video on May 13, 2026.
