There’s a new development in Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen’s history.
Following confirmation that Utah police were investigating a reported physical fight between Dakota and Taylor, TMZ released video of a previous domestic dispute. This earlier incident led to Taylor pleading guilty to aggravated assault in 2023.
In a 2023 video, Dakota filmed what was happening on his phone. Taylor, who had his 5-year-old daughter with him, became angry and tried to hit Dakota, even briefly putting him in a headlock and attempting to kick him.
“Look,” Dakota can be heard saying, “this is called physical abuse.”
When Dakota, Taylor’s on-again, off-again partner between 2022 and 2025, began to leave, Taylor threw a metal barstool at him, and then another. She attempted to hit him with a third. As she reached for the second barstool, Dakota – the father of her two-year-old son, Ever – reminded her, “Your daughter is right here.”
At that moment, Taylor’s oldest child—who was sitting on the couch with their father, Tate Paul—seems to be struck by a third stool and starts to cry, then calls for their mother.
During the argument, Taylor claims Dakota pushed her to the ground right before he began filming. Dakota responds by saying, “You did this,” and asks Taylor to assist with their 5-year-old child. Shortly after, Taylor shouts, “Get away from my daughter!”

After the 2023 incident shown in the video, Taylor was arrested and faced several charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence with a child being injured, simple child abuse, and criminal mischief, according to court records released by the Salt Lake County District Attorney and reported by TopMob News.
In August, the 31-year-old woman admitted to aggravated assault, and other charges against her were dropped, according to ABC4 Utah. She later stated on the Call Her Daddy podcast in September, “I never hurt my daughter, and I never intentionally did anything to harm my children.”
According to TMZ, police were called to the house by a neighbor, and the video shows them arriving after about three and a half minutes. A police report cited by the outlet stated the 5-year-old child had a visible bump on her head following the incident. Court documents obtained by TopMob News confirmed police determined the child was hit by one of the stools, and officers reviewed this video footage.
TopMob News has contacted representatives for Dakota, but they haven’t responded yet. Following the 2023 incident, he told the Daily Mail that he and Taylor hadn’t fought, and that she would never intentionally harm anyone.
Okay, so when TMZ dropped that video, my girl Taylor’s team immediately spoke out – and honestly, good for them! They said it was all part of this awful, calculated effort to tear her down. They pointed out the video conveniently left out so much important context, like, seriously, it didn’t tell the full story at all. And they called it a totally disgusting attempt to shift the blame and get everyone looking away from his actions. TMZ didn’t even say where they got the video, which is super shady if you ask me, just adding fuel to the fire!

After the 2023 incident shown in the video, Taylor was arrested and faced several charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence with a child present that resulted in injury, simple child abuse, and property damage, according to court records released by the Salt Lake County District Attorney and reported by TopMob News.
According to ABC4 Utah, the 31-year-old admitted to aggravated assault last August, and other charges against her were dropped. In a September episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, she stated, “I never hurt my daughter, and I never intentionally did anything to harm my children.”

Dakota recently revealed on season four of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives that she and Taylor had a romantic encounter the night before she left to film The Bachelorette. The new season of The Bachelorette is set to premiere on March 22nd.
After another incident in February—which led to a temporary halt in filming for season five of Mormon Wives—a source told TopMob News that this situation is different from what happened in 2023. They explained that Taylor is in a much better place in her life now.
According to a source, her sole focus is the safety of her child, and all her recent actions have been motivated by that concern.
