FBC: Firebreak Permanently Slashes Price as Its Final Major Update Goes Live on PS5

Remedy Entertainment has released the last update for FBC: Firebreak, their cooperative shooting game that didn’t gain widespread popularity.

At the same time, the publisher has permanently reduced the game’s price on all storefronts.

Remedy announced on the Steam page for FBC: Firebreak that the game now costs $19.99 (or £16.74), which is a 50% price reduction from its original launch price.

We confirmed the new prices on the PlayStation Store. In the US, the games are now listed at the correct, updated price. Interestingly, the UK price is a bit lower than expected – it’s currently £15.99.

As for the new content update, there’s a fair amount for players to sink their teeth into.

The game’s Endless Shift mode now features five new arenas, each designed after locations from the original Control.

This update also includes the Friend’s Pass, letting you play with friends – even if they don’t own the game – no matter what platform they’re on.

To play FBC: Firebreak with friends on PS5, they’ll each need to download the free trial version first. Once they’ve done that, you can invite them using a party code and play together as usual. Just a heads-up – they’ll also need a PlayStation Plus subscription.

This update includes several improvements and changes to the game’s systems. Specifically, it adjusts how harmful conditions and healing work, completely redesigns how you equip Perks, balances weapons, and adds a number of smaller improvements to make the game more enjoyable.

As a big fan, I was so relieved to hear from Remedy that FBC: Firebreak isn’t going anywhere! They’ve promised it will stay online and playable for years, which is awesome and means we don’t have to worry about it suddenly disappearing.
