If you’re wondering how to save in Crimson Desert, then you’ve come to the right place.
Okay, so Crimson Desert is already known for being a bit…unhelpful when it comes to guiding players, and honestly, saving your game is just another example of that! It’s not exactly straightforward, which is pretty typical for this game, it seems.
Don’t worry! Saving your progress in Crimson Desert is simple and we’ll walk you through it.

How to save in Crimson Desert explained
Crimson Desert offers two ways to save your progress. The game automatically saves after you finish key moments, such as conversations with important characters, completing puzzles, or finding valuable items.
You’re likely here to learn how to manually save your work, and luckily, it’s very easy to do!
Crimson Desert doesn’t make saving your game as simple as in many other games. Like most things in the game, it requires a few more steps than just opening a menu and pressing ‘Save’.

To save your progress in Crimson Desert, pause the game by pressing Start. Then, go to the ‘Others’ tab using the RB or R1 button.
In here, use RT/R2 to navigate all the way to the ‘Options’ tab at the end.
You’ll be presented with a series of options menus, including ‘Save/Load Game’.
Just click here, pick a save slot, and save your game – it’s as easy as saving in any other game!
While it’s useful to have as a backup, we found the game’s automatic saving feature worked well most of the time during our testing.
