Netflix has become a major player in the streaming world thanks to its original shows and movies. Starting with series like Lilyhammer and House of Cards, and continuing with hits such as Stranger Things and One Piece, Netflix consistently delivers high-quality exclusive content. Recently, a beloved show that ended its six-season run almost four years ago returned with a final movie on the platform.
The Shelby family is back in a new Peaky Blinders movie! Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man premiered on Netflix on March 20th. Directed by Tom Harper and written by Steven Knight, the film continues the story of the popular historical crime drama that originally aired on Netflix and BBC from 2013 to 2022. Set in 1940 during World War II, seven years after the end of the TV series, the movie follows an older Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) as he comes out of exile. He must now face his past and deal with his son, Duke (Barry Keoghan), who is caught up in trouble.
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man Is a Fitting Conclusion to One of Netflix’s Best Shows
From the beginning, Peaky Blinders captivated audiences with its compelling blend of suspenseful storytelling, brilliant acting – particularly from Cillian Murphy – and a powerfully immersive atmosphere. Throughout its six seasons, the show evolved into a sophisticated and thrilling gangster epic, filled with complex political maneuvering, intense action, and compelling character arcs. Combined with its striking visuals and a dynamic modern rock soundtrack, Peaky Blinders became a truly addictive and memorable series, and the final installment, The Immortal Man, provides a satisfying conclusion to the story.
Critics have compared the movie to the El Camino follow-up to Breaking Bad, praising it as a satisfying and cinematic conclusion to the Shelby family’s story. Simon Gallagher of ComicBook gave it 4 out of 5 stars, calling it a “triumph” and a perfect ending to the first chapter of the series. Like the show, the movie is dark, intense, and visually striking, with standout performances from Cillian Murphy and Joe Keoghan. Currently, it has a 91% “Certified Fresh” rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes – only slightly lower than the average score for Peaky Blinders – and a strong 89% audience score.
What’s New on Netflix?

More is still on the way, with The Bad Guys 2 arriving on March 21st, Minions: The Rise of Gru on March 23rd, and the final season of The Conners on March 26th.
