Most Pokémon Go players enjoy the challenge of finding Shiny Pokémon. Special in-game events usually include a variety of Pokémon, but not all of them are available in their rare, shiny form. Sometimes, though, players get lucky and can hunt for multiple shiny versions at once! That’s happening with the Replay: Water Research Day event on March 21st. The event takes place from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, so there’s a limited time to participate. If you’re still trying to collect all the Water-type Shiny Pokémon, you definitely won’t want to miss this opportunity.

The Water Research Day event in Pokemon Go focuses on three specific Pokemon you can find through Field Research, as well as Water-type Pokemon appearing more often in the wild. The best part? Every single one of these Pokemon has a chance of being Shiny! You’ll even have increased odds of finding Shiny Lotad, Feebas, and Clamperl through Field Research. Boosted Shiny Odds for Pokemon Go Replay: Water Research Day

During the Water Research Day event, special Field Research tasks will be available at PokeStops from 2 PM to 5 PM local time on March 21st. It’s a good idea to complete any Field Research you already have to make room for these new tasks.

A limited-time Field Research event is now available, giving you chances to find Clamperl, Feebas, and Lotad. These Pokémon have a higher chance of appearing as their rare, shiny versions, making it a great opportunity to add them to your collection. Shiny versions of these Pokémon were first released in 2019 during similar events, so this is another chance for players who didn’t get them before to participate.

Want to further increase your chances of finding a Shiny Pokémon? You can purchase a Timed Research ticket for $1.99, which adds more tasks and encounters with the boosted Shiny rate. However, you’ll also get plenty of free encounters through Field Research by spinning PokéStops during the event. Once you’ve unlocked these special Field Research tasks, they won’t disappear after the event ends at 5 PM local time – you’ll still be able to complete any you have in your list. You just won’t be able to get new Field Research tasks after the event is over.

Clamperl, Feebas, and Lotad are the main highlights of the event with their increased chances of appearing as Shiny Pokemon. But Water Research Day also includes more common Pokemon like Magikarp, Chinchou, and Mareanie appearing more often in the wild. While their Shiny rates aren’t boosted, you still have a chance to find a Shiny version of each! Because Chinchou and Mareanie aren’t usually seen often in the wild, this event might be the best opportunity to catch their Shiny forms for a while.
